- Small, relaxed family site in rural North Brabant
- Maasduinen National Park 20 minutes' drive; 50 minutes to Eindhoven
- Kitchen, barbecue area and hammocks, plus sandbox and water play area
If your vision of a countryside camping break is all green views, kids playing happily in the open air and evenings by the campfire, it’s likely you’ll be pretty pleased with the setup at Camping Tussen de Ackers, just outside the little village of Ledeacker.
In rural North Brabant and surrounded by fields of corn, this is a small-scale site with a relaxed atmosphere that makes it a wonderful base for a chilled-out family holiday. Having travelled extensively for many years, owners Jasper and Loes opened their site in 2024, setting it up to be a place they’d have liked to stay while on their own journeys.
Pitch numbers have been kept deliberately low here, to create a friendly and laidback atmosphere and ensure plenty of space to set up things like gazebos, awnings and camping chairs. And to play, of course… kids will have plenty of scope to run about and ride bikes, and there are fun toddler-friendly bits provided like a sandbox, a water play area, toys, balance bikes and mini tractors. Meanwhile, older kids and grownups can get games going at the football field or ping pong table.
Taking it easy? Grab a spot in one of the hammocks and put your feet up while reading your book or taking in the views. The hammocks are over in the camping lounge, in a stretch tent that makes a lovely space to socialise as well as having handy facilities like an outdoor kitchen and barbecue. Later on, move the party to the campfire area to keep things cosy while checking out the stars overhead.

Local attractions
Enjoyed the views and keen to see more of the scenery? The Land van Cuijk area has lots of lovely walking and cycling trails to try. Some favourite spots include Sint Anthonisbos (10 minutes’ drive) for forest walks, and the Maasduinen National Park (20 minutes’ drive) for strolls among sand dunes and heathland areas.
And there are other outdoor activities to try out too – perhaps a swim or some watersports at the lake-filled Kraaijenbergse Plassen (20 minutes) or beach days, mini golf, air trampolines, rides and nature play areas at De Bergen Adventure Park (five minutes). The latter also has indoor activities – or you could try a day in the wave pools and slides of Aqua Mundo Heiderbos (20 minutes).
For other family outings, wander among the animals at ZooParc Overloon (15 minutes) or step back in time at Overloon War Museum (20 minutes). Looking a little further afield, Eindhoven (50 minutes) is a good place to explore – it’s easily walkable or bikeable, and has attractions including the Van Abbemuseum, Philips Museum and football-themed PSV Museum.
