Located in the forest of Friesland, near to the Drents-Friese National Park, Te Hooi en Te Gras is an ideal base for enjoying the great outdoors. You can explore the area by choosing one of the many walking and cycle routes available nearby, go hiking in the woods, or swimming and canoeing in the river, and enjoy fishing in Noordwolde ponds.
On arrival, the friendly site team will welcome you with coffee and tea in the cosy communal area, where guests can gather around the fireplace and meet new friends or just sit and relax with a book on a rainy afternoon.
There is also a nice terrace where you can enjoy a meal together, play some music or just chill out under the sun, as well as a play area provided with slides, seesaws, trampoline, ping pong tables and go-karts.

Local attractions
Discover Appelscha, a pretty village that borders the Drents-Friese National Park and a famous hiking and cycling starting point for exploring the forest. There are many mapped-out routes taking you through the 6000 hectares of forest, heath land, shifting sands and river valley grasslands, and across the nearby villages of Steenwijk, Vledder, Diever, Giethoorn and Wolvega. Guests can also enjoy a boat trip or a bit of canoeing in the river.
Appelscha is also home to the Heksenmuseum (Witch Farm), where guests can find out more about witch rituals and enjoy treasure hunts with the kids.
