Gentlemen and ladies visiting the Verona region: amuse yourselves with a stay a few steps' away from Italy's biggest lake at .

Based minutes away from both Bardolino and Lazise, the site has direct access to a small private beach and to the eastern shore of Lake Garda, a place so popular that around 7% of all visitors to Italy flow here throughout the year.

It has modern facilities including ten – si, ten – amenities blocks (no queueing for loos or showers here, ta very much) all accessible to disabled guests; laundry corners with washing machines and tumble dryers, family-friendly rooms and two motorhome service points available for free use.

Eats and drinks are easily had at the site restaurant and bar, and the shop stocks everything you might need including fruit and veg, drinks and camping essentials.

The helpful team on reception can help with booking local activities and buying tickets for museums and theme parks: don't fret if you're low on euros as an ATM is here too. A site warden is available to assist with queries when reception is closed.

The team also organises events in high season, such as sports tournaments, music nights and a kids' club.

Everything! I honestly could not fault anything about our stay at Camping Cisano. On arrival our caravan was spotlessly clean, smelt deliciously clean and fresh and was well equipped with utensils and crockery. The reception staff were friendly, spoke very good english and nothing was too much trouble for them. The on site entertainment was wide ranging and catered to both of our children aged 4 and 12 and the animation staff in charge were wonderful with the children and entertaining for adults too. The facilities available were everything you could possibly want, a well stocked supermarket, bakery on site for fresh baguettes, reasonably priced store with toys and pool toys for the children, a doctor who visited the site, plenty of facilities to wash clothes, barbecues available for hire, 3 pools and 3 lifeguards there at all times, several playparks and 2 very tasty and reasonably priced restaurants with lovely staff. And the setting is idyllic, beautiful views over the lake and numerous lovely beaches just a few minutes walk away. The whole holiday far exceeded any review I had read and any expectations I had and I whole heartedly intend to return in 2 years, am only sad we have to wait that long but as we are expecting another baby will have to wait!

The absolute only negative I could find was that our caravan was at the top of the site and was quite an uphill trek but had I not been pregnant this wouldn't even have bothered me.

    Ottimo campeggio.
