None but the most heroic of parents would deny it's rather sublime to have peaceful grownup time while on hol. Which is why Camping Badiaccia will be a mega hit, as the friendly, qualified and multilingual entertainment team here can whisk the kids off for activities as part of a packed programme in July and August, while the big folk get on with serious business like basking by the pools or supping cocktails. This is a fab site for families – and couples, and solo travellers, and fans of watersports, sands, spectacular scenery and (this'll be everyone, then) tasty Tuscan and Umbrian cuisine. It's on the shores of Lake Trasimeno and has its own private beach for sunbathing, swimming and sailing. A flat bike path runs around the lake to local villages (Tuscan cuisine ahoy); further afield, it's under 40 minutes' drive to Perugia from here, less than an hour to Siena and Assisi, and about an hour and a half to Florence. All ages are well occupied here: as well as the kids' clubs, small sorts have three playgrounds to occupy them, go-karts to ride and a paddling pool just for tiddlers, or they can join the grownups for an afternoon of tennis, beach volleyball, football, basketball or miniature golf. Camping Badiaccia also has a gym if you're feeling mighty energetic; daily summer entertainment, and options galore for tipples and vittles at the restaurant serving Tuscan and Umbrian specialities, the bar dishing up snacks, and the market selling local and general produce as well as an impressive selection of Italian vino. And finally? The main pool is surrounded by a lawn with deckchairs and beach umbrellas, all for free use by guests.

Liked Heerlijke croissantjes, fijn engels sprekende receptie.

Disliked Het huisje was viezig, veel vliegenpoepjes op verschillende plekken in woon en slaapkamers. de deuren waren waren echt vies, vieze plekken en druppels en in de badkamer viel er steeds viezigheid uit de lampjes in bijv. de wasbak.keuken was incompleet, was weinig in te koken, handgereedschap missend, kapotte koekenpan, waar we de handgrepen van hebben gerepareerd. tevens moesten we een aansteker kopen om het gas aan te krijgen. geen basisfacilieteiten bijv. magnetron, airco ( we weten dat we het erbij konden huren maar eigenlijk is dit een basis voorziening die in het huisje hoort) geen schoonmaak spullen ( een beetje camping waarbij je een huisje huurt heeft voor de eerste dagen een pakketje met 1 vuilniszak, etc.
Het huisje was niet schoon want er waren vlooien aanwezig. meerdere beten op de benen en dit waren echt vlooien beten want er waren voldoende muggenbeten als vergelijking.
De laatste dag verjaagd uit het huis vanwege een mierenplaag die zowel in als buiten het huisje was en veel overlast heeft gegegeven. er is gespoten en daarna was het een mieren kerkhof binnen en buiten echt smerig.
er is ons geen ander huisje aangeboden.
Heel eerlijk vonden we het een zeer uitgeleefde stacaravan. prijs/kwaliteit niet naar verhouding ook de prijs aangezien het echt aan het einde van het seizoen was, want het restaurant had bijv. geen pizza's, winkel minimaal bevoorraad en weinig tot geen keuzes. we wisten dat het het einde van het seizoen was maar dit was echt minimaal voor een camping die zich als beste wil laten meetellen.

Liked Großer Platz, alles vorhanden, was man sich vorstellen kann. Essen im Restaursnt sehr gut.

Disliked Badehaubenpflicht im Pool hat bei unseren Kindern völliges Verweigern ausgelöst.... finde ich auch unnötig.

Leider waren wir in einem Dürre-Sommer da - der Trasimener See war 1,70m unter Normalniveau und dementsprechend der Strand ca 100m nach hinten versetzt und man konnte nicht schwimmen. Leider stank es dadurch auch ganz übel - nicht der Fehler des Campingplatzes, aber ich würde mich über den See informieren, bevor ich hinfahre. Für uns war das eigentlich ein Auswahlgrund. Wie gesagt, dafür kann der Campingplatz nichts!
Aber wir blieben dann nur eine Nacht.

Liked Posto bello, tranquillo,ideale per le famiglie.Belle piscine, pulite.Spiaggia curata.Sarebbe bello creare una palestra all'aperto.Lo staff cordiale e disponibile.Anche il nostro cane è stato benissimo.

Disliked Non mi è piaciuto il fatto che non si può fare il bagno nel lago ma questo non dipende dal proprietario del campeggio.

Disliked Some facilities were run down, no toilet roll in toilets and often no soap. No where really to go off-site in walking distance.

They had WiFi issues which made working difficult

Liked Ci è piaciuto molto questo campeggio: gli spazi sono puliti e ben organizzati e c’è tutto ciò che serve per trascorrere un soggiorno piacevole. L’ambiente è tranquillo e rilassante, ma allo stesso tempo adatto sia alle famiglie che ai gruppi di amici. Ci siamo trovati davvero bene e torneremo volentieri!

Disliked Very rude staff, electric hook up wouldn’t connect, employee very rude and said our van was the problem (brand new van) left after 2 hrs and found a lovely friendly site up the road with no problem with the electric hook up!

First up (well, second after several beach days) has to be a thorough investigation of Lake Trasimeno and many an hour kayaking, canoeing and sailing. There are islands to trip along to on the lake as well, including the only inhabited one, Maggiore, which has the ruins of a Franciscan monastery among its old buildings. For cycling (recommended), access the route between Castiglione del Lago and Tuoro sul Trasimeno, passing Borghetto to a spectacularly scenic sight between lake and low hills near Magione. Hikers can tackle the 18-kilometre trail from the site to Tuoro, or drive a short distance to access the area of the Battle of Lake Trasimene, one of the major fighting points of the Second Punic War between the Romans and that pesky and persistent Hannibal. (Fun fact: no-one knows exactly where the battle took place, so make like an ancient historian and ponder this while on your travels.)
