Parco Delle Piscine indeed – set among spectacularly scenic Tuscan countryside on the edge of the hillside village of Sarteano, this park has three immaculate thermal spring-fed swimming pools to splash around in… which means no chlorine, no additives, just fresh mountain water for goggles-free dips. The main pool has two waterslides to keep the kids occupied, and a separate pool is set away from the action. There’s an excellent poolside bar that’s open throughout the day for drinks, ice creams and other snacky treats, and when you need a proper meal, the site has a fab restaurant serving traditional Tuscan cuisine for lunch and dinner and takeaways Kids will be kept well occupied out of the pool too: as well as a summer programme of activities, a nicely shaded playground and green space for ball sports, Parco Delle Piscine also has several ping pong tables and a multisports court for tennis, basketball and volleyball. A short, easy and scenic drive will take you to a large supermarket 10 minutes away; however, most of what you might need is available a short walk away in the village. The site is 550 metres from Sarteano’s centre, and very close to the local supermarket, bread shops, gelateria and a fresh pasta shop, all around 50 metres from the park’s entrance.

Disliked Restaurant staff very rude and the swimming pool guards are constantly on their phone. The very young had his phone in one hand, an ice cream in the other and AirPods in his years listening to music. Just a disgrace to see.

On the website is written they have entertainment: it is a fraud to call it like that. Two of the theee “entertainers” do not speak a word of Italian, therefore kids do not feel like they want to go for activities. Latest activity is baby disco at 6 pm and they go out clubbing every night without even saying hello to guests when encountering them. A disgrace.

Also, 120€ for a pitch is a really high price!

Liked Excellent pitch, lovely and shady and very spacious. Great shared facilities, very clean. As a disabled person I really appreciated the disabled facilities, spacious with seating.

Liked Love this sight in beautiful Sarteano. Close to town and a supermarket. Have stayed here 3 times now.
Has 3 pools one only open July & August.

Liked Close proximity to Sarteano town and shops. Nice size pitches. Toilets and showers clean. 3 pools of good size but one doesn’t open until July. Friendly helpful staff.

Disliked Electric hook up didn’t work on setting up so had to move pitch. Reported to office.

Liked Sehr freundlicher Empfang, nette Mitarbeiter, großes Schwimmbad, sehr gepflegte Anlage, Sanitäranlagen sauber, gute Lage, Stellplätze sehr privat dadurch hohe Hecke eingegrenzt

Disliked Außerhalb der Hauptsaison abends keine Unterhaltung keine Musik und auch keine Gastronomie am Platz. Man muss also den Campingplatz verlassen um etwas essen gehen zu können oder um einen Drink zu bekommen. Leider hat der Campingplatz aktuell Probleme mit Hunden in der Umgebung daher nachts laut starkes Gebell rund um den Platz, WLAN hat zumindest auf unserem Platz nicht funktioniert

Local attractions

As the site is six kilometres from the A1, you’re handily placed for day trips to Siena and Perugia and in a good spot for a stopover midway between Florence and Rome. For more rejuvenation by mountain water, you can drive 11 kilometres to the free thermal baths at Chianciano Terme, or a little further afield to San Filippo Springs, around 50 kilometres from base. The famed wineries of Montepulciano are around half an hour’s drive away, making wine tasting tours a very strong possibility for days out – bring back a bottle or three to quaff once back on site. There’s more water-based stuff to do over at Lake Trasimeno, around 40 minutes’ drive away – pools, rafting, toboggan and twister slides make up the waterpark there, and kids and grownups can book in for a sailing or canoeing lesson at the lake’s watersports centre.
