If you’re looking for a peaceful and family-friendly base from which to discover the manifold attractions of Tuscany, add Raggio di Sole to your list of possibilities. Found at Ghezzano, 10 minutes’ drive from the centre of Pisa, it’s also handy for exploring handsome Lucca (35 minutes by car), Ligurian Sea beaches (40 minutes) and the geothermal waters at San Giuliano Terme (10 minutes). This is a small farm site with a large lawned garden for relaxing in, and a deli where you can order quality home-grown salads, vegetables and bread; they're subject to availability, as many of the products depend on the weather conditions. Now, the practicalities. Bus tickets can be purchased on site to take public transport to the Leaning Tower of Pisa; the bus stop itself is under 10 minutes' walk from the site. The level pitches all have trees around their boundaries for extra privacy and shade from the sun. Water and wastewater disposal are both readily available. There’s also a modern shared toilet block.

Liked We had a wonderful stay at Raggio di Sole Campsite. Everything was perfect, the campsite was clean, well maintained, and had a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere. The location is excellent, just a 10 minutes bus ride from Pisa. A special thank you to all the staff, who were always friendly, helpful, and welcoming, making us feel right at home. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

Liked Dieser Platz ist sehr sauber, super angelegt und sehr nah für die Ausflüge nach Pisa in die Stadt! Er ist klein, fein, die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich und helfen wo es geht! Sie bauen selbst Gemüse an und verkaufen dieses und es gibt auch an einem Tag in der Woche selbstgemachte Pizza ( schmeckt hervorragend)! Dieses Jahr war es leider sehr heiß , aber wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt!

Disliked Leider gibt es nur eine Dusche und gemeinschaftliche Toiletten. Zwar sauber, aber etwas wenig für die Menge Stellplätze!

Local attractions

No doubt you’ll want to take a selfie of yourself propping up the Leaning Tower of Pisa (10 minutes’ drive), and have a good look around the marble cathedral and Camposanto cloister in the city’s Piazza dei Miracoli. You can also have a stroll along the River Arno, count the statues on the exterior of the waterside Santa Maria della Spina chapel, and admire Keith Haring’s colourful mural ‘Tuttomondo’ (‘All the World’), representing world peace. On the outskirts of Pisa is the Certosa di Calci (15 minutes), formerly a monastery and now a fascinating natural history museum. As well as walking its medieval walls, in Lucca (35 minutes) you can climb up the Guinigi Tower for views over the ancient town. If you’re needing a break from all that splendid culture, head for the therapeutic spas at San Giuliano Terme (10 minutes), hit the hiking paths along around Monte Faeta or take the scenic drive up to the top of Monte Serra (both 40 minutes) for views across the Tuscan countryside.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

Dogs are prohibited from main facilities and amenities.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.

General

Bookings are nominative and non-transferable.
Bookings must not be for more than 29 consecutive nights.
In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
Please note that the toilet facilities are unisex.
Quiet (afternoon) hours must be respected between 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m..
Quiet hours must be respected between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m..
Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and boots must be closed quietly.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.
