What a spectacularly set Tuscany park. Surrounded by a shaded coastal pine forest in the Maremma region and welcoming guests for more than 50 years, Campeggio Maremma Sans Souci has loads to do within easy reach of its locale right by the sea on the coast of Tuscany. First up, it has direct access to its own private beach and lies three kilometres from the popular seaside spot of Castiglione della Pescaia. Next, it's close to the Diaccia Botrona nature reserve, between Castiglione della Pescaia and Grosseto, and near the archaeology of ancient Pitigliano and the springs of Massa Marittima. Walking and cycling trails are easy to find too – and you'll likely have figured out that this area is also prime wildlife watching territory (there are birds and the occasional visit from a local wild pig). The site can also organise bicycle rental and bicycle or trekking tours. If you're a watersports sort, the site has an area for surfers to dry their wetsuits and wash and hang out their sails after riding the waves. A watersports school is 10 minutes' drive away for sailing and windsurfing courses. Each pitch at this peaceful site is bordered by hedges, giving guests maximum privacy, and the grounds are surrounded by mature trees, providing shade from the sun. Fodder is sorted at the site’s snack bar, while something more substantial can be procured at the restaurant and pizzeria; alternatively, pick up stuff at the mini market for a barbecue. Kids can let off steam by building sandcastles on the nearby beach; handily, beach equipment is sold in the on-site bazaar shop, as well as postcards and souvenirs. Alternatively, take them to the playground. During the high season (June to September), there is an entertainment service with sports and other recreational activities for kids. There's also wifi in all areas, as well as a service area and a tourist information area.

Disliked: - vicinanza con altre piazzole - sovrappopolamento (Agosto 2024) - check in (piazzola per tenda)...perso più di mezza giornata per individuare la posizione della piazzola, nonostante avessi già prenotato... - prezzi e servizi pressoché nulli (negozio poco fornito con prezzi eclatanti)...null'altro

Liked: Piazzola grande e abbastanza pianeggiante ma tutto il pomeriggio sole. Bagni la prima settimana puliti abbiamo soggiornato le 2 settimane centrali ad agosto mare e spiaggia molto belli e puliti punto di forza del campeggio

Disliked: Animazione inesistente a parte 2 volte la settimana la sera un cantante. Solo baby dance per i più piccoli. La settimana di ferragosto bagni molto sporchi (c'era tanta gente) dipendenti del campeggio in generale molto "freddi", piazzole non curate e trascurate,

Liked: Toller Platz, mit jeweils seperaten Parzellen. Toller Sandstrand und (für einen Campingplatz) sehr gutes Restaurant. Etwas nervig war, dass man (nach langer Anreise) die Parzelle selbst aussuchen soll. Im Nachhinein war das aber eine tolle Sache. Da man mit geübten Auge einen passenden Platz für sich finden kann.

Disliked: Überraschend waren die überaus lauten Zikaden. Da wir mit Zelt unterwegs waren, konnten wir dem Konzert nicht wirklich entgehen. Natürlich kann man das dem Betreiber nicht ankreiden. Tipp: Oropax!

Liked: Es war alles sehr gut. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Die Umgebung war mega schön und alles war sauber. Ich reise mit meinen 3 Hunden und die fühlten sich wie ich sehr wohl.

Disliked: Es gab aber zwei Punkte, wo ich sehr unglücklich war. Als erstes war die Mückenplage katastrophal!!! Es war schade, dass nicht früher gespritzt wurde. Das 2. war, ich hatte einen Geldbeutel bei den Waschmaschinen liegen gelassen mit all meinen Euro. Dieser kam NICHT mehr zum Vorschein. Hinterliess ein sehr ungutes Gefühl.

Local attractions

Water-based activities are well sorted all over this area, with surfboards and pedalo rentals found on most beaches. For something sail-based, the blustery Fiumara beach (a 10-minute drive south of the town) is popular with windsurfers and kitesurfers. Away from the water, make for Castiglione della Pescaia for sightseeing, history and shopping: its medieval fortress is still one of the town's main sights, along with its old Etruscan centre, Vetulonia. Castiglione's historic centre is also good for shopping trips: shoes, bags and other bits can be bought until around midnight during the summer holidays, and you can pick up further goodies at the Saturday morning market near the harbour. The Diaccia Botrona nature reserve, just outside town, is a popular spot with birdwatchers to spy flamingos and ducks; for more nature, hike around the Natural Park of Maremma, a protected wildlife area in spectacularly green Tuscan surrounds; visit the the springs of Massa Marittima; or take a boat trip out to the islands of Elba and Giglio.

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.

General

Bookings are nominative and non-transferable.
Discount cards and gift vouchers cannot be applied to bookings made via Pitchup.com.
