They're a clever bunch at Camping Village Il Poggetto. For, as they rightly point out, this Tuscany site's locale near Rignano sull'Arno in the province of Florence means you can pick whichever sort of holiday you prefer: pottering around the Chianti vineyards surrounding or basing yourself here to get to glorious Tuscany cities like Florence just 15 kilometres away… (Doing both is an excellent option too). A bus stop to Florence is a mere 50 metres from the site entrance, and Pisa, Lucca and Siena are all within easy reach for day trips. Mountain bikes are available for hire on site too, handy if your preferred option is to get out into the handsomely scenic surrounding countryside. Whatever you decide to do, have quite a bit of Tuscan cuisine and woodfired pizza at the local restaurant, which is open for dinner. If you're after something to eat or drink earlier on in the day, the shop and bar are open all day, and you're very welcome to set up a barbecue. Those lazing around on base can splash around in two pools (one for the full-sized and one for the kids) or send the kids off to get busy at the playground. The site is a 10-minute drive from afternoons at the shopping outlet The Mall, as Tuscan holidays should involve some Italian clothes shopping too.

Liked Large woodland campsite. Restaurant, facilities and reception staff were all good. Easy access to Florence on the bus, takes about 40 mins

Disliked Understanding, that this is a village/resort site, even in October large groups of young people are booked which does not give the peaceful experience we were looking for!

Liked Sehr freundlicher Empfang. Wir durften uns den Platz aussuchen.
Schöne Gegend. Sanitäranlagen sauber und ausreichend vorhanden.
Restaurant ok.

Disliked Direkt neben der Autobahn, dadurch lauter Verkehrslärm. Shop und Waschen ziemlich teuer.
Restaurant: Personal etwas unmotiviert. Ungesicherte W-LAN.
