Fancy a stroll with some rural scenery? Perhaps you’d like to climb to the Valico del Paretaio viewpoint (10 minutes’ drive) or seek out trails in the Foreste Casentinesi National Park (45 minutes). There’s plenty to see after sunset too, as this is an area of dark skies – best viewed by attending one of the public open evenings at Astronomical Observatory of Monteromano (40 minutes). Of course this is an area of quite some history, too, which you can dip into with visits to Chiesa di Lozzole (15 minutes) or Ca' Di Malanca history museum (55 minutes). If you don’t mind a longer journey, you can also plan day trips to the likes of Bologna (an hour and 20 minutes) and Florence (an hour and a half). If you'd like to up the pace considerably, see if there’s something going on at the Mugello Circuit (an hour) – cars and motorbikes both race here, with races and practice sessions available to book.
