You’ll certainly want to raise a toast to your Tuscany surroundings when you’re staying at Azienda Agricola La Campana d’Oro – and what better way to do it than with some of the beer brewed right there on site? This tasty-sounding site is in the grounds of an old farm dating back to the early 19th century and now transformed into an agriturismo site with its very own brewery. The company takes care of the whole process here, from sowing the grain to bottling the beer, and guests can see much of the action by signing up for brewery tours during their stay – with a chance to sample the range of products too, alongside some favourite local snacks. Lunch and dinner can be sorted on site too if you want them, and there are plenty of places to eat, drink or pick up supplies in Bibbiena town centre, just under two kilometres away. Barbecues are permitted on site, so you may like to think about that as an option for an alfresco evening meal. In between bites and beers, there’s plenty to keep you busy locally: perhaps take walks in the Casentinesi Forests National Park, visit historic attractions like Camaldoli monastery and the castle in Poppi, or further your foodie adventures by going out truffle hunting with a local expert. The hardstanding pitches at the farm are fairly simple in style, but all have access to amenities including toilets, showers and free wifi. There's also a games room for a bit of easy on-site entertainment.

Liked: Sehr nette Gastgeber, sauber und ordentlich, Waschmaschine vorhanden und das Badezimmer mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet, alles zweckmäßig und sauber. Das Restaurant hat eine ausgezeichnete Küche. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, trotz schlechten Wetter.

Liked: Herzliche Gastgeber, leckeres Essen im Restaurant, wunderschöne Aussicht und tolles Areal.

Disliked: Das Industriegebiet ist nah dran und man sieht und hört es ein wenig. Zuerst dachte wir es würde stören aber das war nicht wirklich der Fall.

Liked: SEHR GASTFREUNDLICH Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Gastgeberin ist überaus freundlich. Alles ist sehr gepflegt und sauber. Habe noch nie eine so gemütliches Bad gesehen...mit Sofa. Wir haben hier auch gut zu Abend gegessen.

Liked: The site itself was pretty and there were some nice views across the valley.

Disliked: No privacy in the bathroom (no lock on door etc), had to pay for showers, quite noisy in the morning.

From the manager: Buon giorno, signorina contesto integralmente la sua opinione, che trovo assolutamente non vera e piu precisamente: 1. LA CHIAVE NELLA PORTA CE' se l'ha trovata aperta e' colpa di qualche altro cliente che l'ha lasciata senza chiudere.!assurdo e non vero. 2. nel nostro sito in Pitchup certo che c'e' scritto che si paga la doccia, perche 2,00 euro le sembrano tanto per ua doccia calda NON a Tempo???a casa sua non paga l'acqua E LA CORRENTE? 3.il wi-fi ha un ruter che arriva a 90 mt ma se non mi chiede la password come fa a collegarsi!!e' arrivata con un auto in ritardo dall'orario indicato al buio e non e' nemmeno venuta per lasciare le sue generalita', non va mica bene.! 4. Rumore, siamo in campagna forse qualche trattore o altro cliente che andava via cosa ci posso fare io . 5.Privacy, poteva dirmi che non era di suo gradimento lo spazio che tra l altro era il piu distante avrei certamente valutato altro posto. Quando date un opinione negativa sappiate che c'e' gente che ci mette il cuore dall altra parte e che certo se non siete contenti e' giusto il vostro parere ma per favore che sia pertinente altrimenti ci danneggiate gratuitamente e non va bene.Un caro saluto

Work up a thirst for your evening drinks with a long walk among the tree-lined trails of Casentinesi Forests National Park (15 minutes’ drive), an e-bike tour or a horseback outing from the stables five minutes’ drive away. There’s a public pool in Bibbiena if you feel the need to cool off upon return. If you like your strolls to take in historic sights, set off to the Castle of the Earls Guidi in Poppi (10 minutes), the monastery and hermitage in Camaldoli (15 minutes) or the Franciscan monastery in Verna (35 minutes). The Lana Luigi Lombard Foundation Wool Art Museum is a good place to try too, for an insight into wool production techniques and a look at some rather lovely textiles. Planning to take in some of Tuscany’s top sights while you’re in the area? Arezzo is about 40 minutes’ drive away, and the farm is also within day-trip distance of Florence (an hour and a half) Siena (an hour and 40 minutes) and the towers of San Gimignano (two hours).
