Luckily you can do both when you book a stay at Villa Teti, a family-friendly Campofelice di Roccella campsite five minutes’ stroll from its own private Tyrrhenian Sea beach. It’s also 10 minutes’ walk from the railway station for day trips to Sicily’s historic capital city of Palermo (an hour by train). Set amid leafy Mediterranean gardens planted with olive and palm trees – where you can relax with a book or snooze in the sun – the site has plenty to keep everyone occupied when more activity is needed. Challenge family and friends to some gentle competition on the tennis court, play rousing games of basketball or football, and let younger kids wear off energy on the playground swings. Wanting more? Try a fast-paced game of ping-pong, or bowling on the lawns. Cool off after all that with a refreshing dip in the swimming pool, with its sundeck surrounded by lemon trees, or meander down to the exclusive-use beach and put your feet up on a lounger – hit the sands at twilight and you may be rewarded by a spectacular sunset.

Signor Leonardo and Signora Carmen are very helpful. We stayed 4 days and are very satisfied. The beach nearby. Ristorante Anna, recommended by Leonardo is a great choice. Good food and a lovely terrace.

Liked Its location was great close to the beach. The pool was perfect for what we needed, it was quiet. Plus the showers were great. The who booked is was great full of knowledge and even came back to open up after our late arrival.

Disliked The narrow drive wasn't ideal for motorhomes and there was only a couple of spots to plug in.

It’s unlikely that you will ever tire of the beach, its lively bar scene and myriad watersports opportunities, but should this unlikely situation arise, ship the whole family off to Acqua Verde (10 minutes’ drive) for a day on the water slides and wave machines.
