- Rent mountain bikes, quads and canoes for bay hopping and line fishing
- Outdoor pool, bar, restaurant/pizzeria, playground and mini farm
If sojourns in Sardinia are calling your name, head to Camping Coccorrocci for a quiet beachfront break 10 minutes’ drive from Marina di Gairo. With pretty sea views and Ogliastra’s mountains towering in the background, stays here sure are scenic.
For trips to the sea, the pebbly Coccorrocci – the site’s namesake – is a (very) short stroll away, and plenty more seaside spots to explore are dotted along Sardinia's east coast.
Days spent chilling on base are helped along by the on-site pool, which is open during high season and has sunbeds for lazy days. And the ultimate accompaniment to lounging? A bar near the pool serving cold drinks, cocktails, snacks and ice creams.
For more extensive eats, a restaurant and pizzeria opens for lunch and dinner with traditional Sardinian and Italian cuisine dished up; grab supplies at the on-site supermarket for other meals – food and drink here ranges from salami and cheese to seasonal fresh fruit and wine.
Pick up a bottle to accompany dinner cooked on the barbecue (charcoal and gas bottles are also sold at the shop) and peruse the snorkelling gear, such as masks and flippers, ready for some underwater encounters. Speaking of ocean explores, the site rents out motorised inflatable dinghies and single- and double-seater canoes for bay hopping and line fishing. For escapades on dry land, mountain and quad bikes are also available to hire.
In the unlikely event that kids manage to burn through the site’s other activities and need extra entertainment, a playground and a mini farm with some critters to meet are also on the grounds.

Organise your break around beach-hopping while on a hol in this buff part of the Italian coast – Coccorrocci, a stretch of seaside next to the site, should be your first stop before moving on to Cala E' Luas, 15 minutes’ walk, a tiny cove at the base of a small canyon.
If you’re keen on kitesurfing and windsurfing, Su Sirboni beach (40 minutes’ walk or five minutes’ drive) is a top spot for both these sports and is rather easy on the eye too as it’s set between a jumble of striking red rocks.
Horse riding’s to be had on Perd'e Pera beach (10 minutes); go northwards along the white sand to step off the saddle and pootle around a pine forest. To keep wandering, Monte Ferru (half an hour) has walking trails leading towards natural swimming pools.
For a historical hike, dawdle over to the Domus de Janas, 25 minutes, and check out chamber tombs dating back to the Bronze Age.
