  • Family run for over 50 years, 18 kilometres from Turin
  • A 20-minute drive to Juventus Stadium
  • Stables, a mountain bike trail and the start of heaps of hiking trails
Thinking about tripping to historic Turin? Fancy taking a tour to the spectacular Laghi di Avigliana Natural park – for hiking expeditions, wildlife spotting and peaceful lakeside pedalling? Or how about visits to medieval towns and scenic boating lakes, winter skiing, wildlife spotting and birdwatching? Family run for more than 50 years over three generations, Mill Park's quiet location a convenient 18 kilometres from Turin, at the entrance to the lower Susa valley and at the foot of Monte Musinè gives you lots of choices for sightseeing, hiking, mountain biking and horse riding around the area; a mountain bike trail and a riding stable are on site, and there's direct access to hiking and alpine itineraries on the French border as well as plenty of tiptop cycling routes around the Susa and Chisone valleys. Back at base, Mill Park is a peaceful and family-friendly residential park, with an excellent range of facilities including the aforementioned stables and mountain bike trail, football fields, beach volleyball courts, a clay tennis court, pétanque, ping pong tables and a playground. There's also a big dining room with board games, a mini library, table tennis, and vending machines for hot and cold drinks and snacks. The site is close to amenities in Caselette village, which has bus routes into the centre of historic Turin, and – one for the footie fans – is a 20-minute drive from Juventus Stadium.

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch

Liked: Well laid out & good washing facilities.

Disliked: Noisy PA system but finished by 11! Shop doesn’t have much in it. Pitch sized small despite being quite empty.

Electric optional grass tent, touring caravan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Super friendly and really helpful. The site is very easy to find, Googlemaps took us straight to it. Checkin is very easy. Facilities are everything you need for a short stay (remember to take your own toilet paper). Plenty of walking and walking and cycling trails on the doorstep, the local village has a great bar called the Kiosk. The campsite operates a cheap shuttlebus service to the local train station, so getting into Turin couldn't be easier.

Disliked: Bit of a mosquito trap, it's not the campsites fault of course. Make sure to go prepared if you suffer from mosquito bites.

Electric optional grass tent, touring caravan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Easy to pitch. Helpful staff.

Disliked: Lack of site name on signage as you approach on roads leading to site. The road to site is narrow and just says camping. You have to have a lot of faith to go down believing you will find Mill Park at the bottom! The name at the top is of a restaurant!

Local attractions

During the winter both the Vallee di Susa and the Valle di Chisone are popular with skiers, while in the summer their lands are a big draw for hikers and cyclists. The major must-see around here is the historic city of Turin, often likened to Venice and famed for its handsome tree-lined boulevards and the squares of Vittorio Veneto, Castello and San Carlo. Reach it in about 30 minutes by car or bus to tour its abundance of cultural hotspots including the San Federico and Subalpina galleries and the Museo Egizio Egyptian museum. Popular Valentino Park lies along the west bank of the Po river for pleasant waterside ambles. Medieval Avigliana, with its mountaintop 10th-century abbey Sacra di San Michele, is an easy 10 kilometres from base. While you're there, fit in walks or boat rides around the Natural Park of the Lakes of Avigliana's two lakes, Lago Grande and Lago Piccolo, and explore elsewhere along the highly scenic Susa valley for birdwatching and wildlife spotting.
