You'll be bang next to lovely Lake Garda with a stay at Camping Il Faro in Italy’s Lombardy region: this peaceful family-run waterside site is 50 metres from a lake beach between Rocca di Garda and San Biagio island, and also within easy reach of pedalo rentals, watersports and hikes. Welcoming guests since 1980, this is a peaceful site that places emphasis on relaxing among spectacular surroundings; there’s no entertainment here – just a series of gentle distractions. Ping pong tables and a small sports area are on hand for active times, and for afterwards, there's a 224-square-metre outdoor swimming pool with a roomy sun terrace and deckchairs (open during high season only). A grassy relaxation area with umbrellas and yet more sun loungers dotted around is at your disposal too for more spells spent horizontally. Pitches are spacious and grassy, and offer plenty of shade from the scorch of the Italian sun, and when it comes to feeding time, guests are welcome to sizzle up their own fodder on the barbecue or make the most of all the soft grassy areas around the site and park up with a picnic. If you're up for venturing off site, tickets can be reserved for local events and shows, and boat excursions can be booked from nearby marinas to Sirmione, Bardolino and Lazise right on site, at the reception area’s handy tourist info point.

Liked Sanitair was Top, proper, nieuwe douces, toiletten en wasbakken kan niet beter.
Mooi zwembad. Onze staanplaats was dicht bij het Gardameer.

Disliked Het zwembad, in folder staat dat het zwembad open zou zijn vanaf eind mei. Bij aankomst moest het zwembad nog hersteld, gepoetst en gevuld moest worden. Is open gegaan na een week. Gedurende het weekend is het zwembad overbevolkt door de vaste en tijdelijke gasten. Wat geeft dit in juli en augustus in hoogseizoen.
Onze plaats was ver van de afvalcontainers we moesten de ganse camping doorwandelen.

Liked All in all pretty nice. Was cool that they have some big tree so u dont have ur tent in the bright sun. We were here at the Start of August and it wasnt so croweded. I was afraid, that it ist a compete famaly camping sight with lots of noisy kids but it was fine. There were some kids but all in all much more quiet an chilled than I expectet. The lake is awesome

Disliked Showers and toilets were okayish, not bad, not amazing

Liked Great location. Plenty of shade for when it gets too warm on the beach. Toilets clean. Lots of cafes near by. Cafe bar on site nice for an afternoon drink looking out on the lake.

Disliked Small shop on site would have been nice. Long walk to ferries to get to other parts of the lake.

Liked Camping Il Faro ligt aan een rustige kant van het Gardameer en is een fijne plek om even echt tot rust te komen.

De staanplaatsen waren verzorgd en het Gardameer was op wandelafstand, wat ideaal was voor een frisse duik of een ontspannen wandeling in de avond.

Disliked We waren minder enthousiast over de sluiting van het zwembad tussen 12:30 en 16:30. Zeker op warme dagen was dat jammer, al bood het Gardameer gelukkig een goed alternatief.

Liked Wir hatten einen rundum tollen Aufenthalt! Die Stellplätze sind großzügig geschnitten, sodass man genug Platz und Privatsphäre hat. Auch sehr saubere Sanitäranlagen, die jederzeit gepflegt waren – das macht den Aufenthalt gleich viel angenehmer.

Das Personal war äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit, man fühlte sich sofort willkommen.

Ein echtes Highlight ist die perfekte Lage direkt am Gardasee – mit einer wunderschönen Promenade, ideal für Spaziergänge, Fahrradtouren oder einfach zum Entspannen mit Blick aufs Wasser.

Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder !

Disliked Ein kleiner Verbesserungsvorschlag: In den Duschen fehlten Ablagemöglichkeiten für frische Kleidung oder Duschutensilien. Ein Regal oder eine kleine Bank wäre hier sehr hilfreich gewesen.

A serviced and dog-friendly beach is next to the site, a 50-metre stroll away. You can hire pedalos here, or should you be in the market for something just a tad more adrenalised, ask the friendly site team about which nearby spots are good for watersports (there are plenty). From the site you can also embark on highly scenic promenades around Garda’s pretty perimeter, or into the surrounding countryside among olive and lemon groves and palm, oleander and orange trees. The climb up to Rocca di Garda is a trip well worth taking, as here you’ll be 650 feet above the waters below for an utterly spectacular vista. To keep the kids topped up with gleeful squeals, visit Gardaland theme park for rides and attractions to suit all ages (including grownups), and to the neighbouring Gardaland SEA LIFE Aquarium to witness live shark feeding (if you’re not too squeamish) and to explore its 13 themed areas with 40 tanks housing more than 5,000 water creatures.
