Immerse yourselves in the rural lifestyle of Liguria with a stay at Agricamping Lo Zafferano – pitches here are part of a family-run farm that specialises in maintaining and rediscovering traditional and forgotten varieties of fruit and veg from the area. You may well spot various unusual crops as you stroll around the site, where you’ll also encounter an olive grove and meet the resident horses. Kids can learn a little bit about the growing process at the educational farm, and everyone can have a go at riding through the local landscapes from a ranch a couple of kilometres away (have a chat with the team on site to put you in touch if you’re interested). The quiet atmosphere here is very much one of rural seclusion, but in fact the farm is well located for town amenities and days out too – a bus stop and grocery store are 500 metres away (and you can often buy local products like honey, oil, eggs and wine at the farm too). The historic centre of Albenga is about five minutes’ drive away and it’s a similar distance to the closest beaches as well. Pitches at this site are spacious and welcoming to all sorts of guests, including families and those travelling with dogs. Facilities include a playground, a communal outdoor cooking and dining area and wifi across the site, and you can hire bikes here too.

Liked Die netten Besitzer, die Lage, der naturbelassene Platz, der Platz ist klein und ruhig, die Kinder hatten viel Spaß damit, die Enten und den Maulesel zu besuchen.

Disliked Das Geschirrspülbecken könnte überdacht sein, die Sanitäranlagen sind sauber- aber schon in die Jahre gekommen, eine Erneuerung ist aber für diesen Winter geplant.

Liked Agricampeggio mit freier Stellplatzwahl.
Stromanschluss möglich.
Sanitär soll laut Info diesen Winter erneuert werden.

Disliked Man sollte sich bewusst sein, dass es sich um einen Agricampeggio handelt bei denen Hühner und Gänse frei auf dem Platz laufen und auch der Hahn frühmorgens kräht.

Liked Site was great and the location excellent.

Disliked Facilities need an update which they have said is happening over the winter.
Also the only other problem are the flies but it is a working farmer which maybe why there are so many.

Liked In der Natur und doch zentral. Lebensmittelgeschäft und Strand in 15 Minuten mit dem Fahrrad. Netter Empfang, Sanitär sauber, alles da, was man braucht.

Disliked Eine Dusche und eine Toilette jeweils für Frauen und Männer im Container.
Hähne und Hunde an den frühen Morgenstunden wechseln sich als Wecker ab.

Liked Sehr schön in der Natur gelegen, an sich ein sehr schöner Platz und Umgebung

Disliked Wir sind selbst vom Land und wissen, dass zu einem Bauernhof Tiere gehören\. Gelegentliches Krähen, Schnattern oder Bellen wäre für uns daher kein Problem gewesen\.

Wir hatten jedoch drei Übernachtungen gebucht und mussten wegen der hohen Temperaturen und des geringen Schattens mit geöffneten Fenstern schlafen\. Dadurch war der Lärm nachts und in den frühen Morgenstunden extrem störend: Der Hahn begann bereits gegen **3:30 Uhr** im Minutentakt zu krähen und lief dabei über den gesamten Platz\. Zusätzlich waren Hunde und Gänse zu hören\. An erholsamen Schlaf war dadurch nicht zu denken\.

Eine Nacht haben wir ausgehalten, die beiden weiteren Nächte konnten wir unter diesen Umständen nicht mehr nutzen\. Ein anderer Stellplatz hätte das Problem nicht gelöst, da sich die Tiere weiterhin auf dem Gelände bewegten und wir die Fenster wegen der Hitze hätten offen lassen müssen\.

Wir baten daher um Kulanz und um die Rückerstattung der beiden nicht genutzten Nächte in Höhe von **50 Euro**\. Zunächst wurden wir an die Buchungsagentur verwiesen, da der Campingplatz angeblich selbst keine Rückerstattung vornehmen könne\. Die Agentur erteilte uns anschließend jedoch eine andere Auskunft\. Bis heute haben wir die 50 Euro nicht zurückerhalten\.

Uns ist bewusst, dass man auf einem Bauernhof mit Tiergeräuschen rechnen muss\. Die nächtliche Lärmbelästigung war in diesem Ausmaß für uns jedoch nicht zumutbar\. Besonders enttäuschend war neben dem Lärm der Umgang mit unserer Beschwerde und die fehlende Kulanz\.

This area is a wonderful place to explore on foot or by bike – there are several scenic hiking trails nearby, including the Via Julia Augusta, and places where you can find some challenging mountain bike descents. Nearby Pennavaire Valley (10 minutes’ drive) and Castelbianco (15 minutes) are well known as free climbing destinations, and you can get underground at the three caves of Grotte di Toirano (15 minutes). For more of a gentle stroll, set off instead to Albenga (five minutes) to explore its historic centre, including a Romanesque cathedral, a collection of medieval towers and a whole lot of streets and plazas to wander around. There are also some good museums here, including a naval museum that houses the remains of a 1st-century ship. If you’re after a beach day, you could settle on the pebbly beach in Albenga or travel south to Alassio (10 minutes) for a longer stretch of sand. Aquatic Park Le Caravelle (five minutes) is another option for a swim, with lots of waterslides to scream down as well.
