It's mighty unlikely that you need an introduction to Rome, the spectacular ancient city that evolved on seven hills way back when. But you may be unaware of the spectacular holiday resort of Seven Hills Village, a quick train ride from Rome's stupendous centre – if you're Rome-bound, read on with immediacy. Seven Hills Village is a huge holiday park in pretty Veio Park, 12 kilometres from Rome's centre, set up for guests of all tastes to have a Roman holiday without eye-watering city hotel prices. Covering a wide swathe of countryside in a secluded setting, it's a green and peaceful place to retreat to after a day of city sightseeing: you've probably also heard that Rome can get rather busy. The extensive facilities include a swimming pool (available for an additional fee) for lazy days on site when you're not craving the Coliseum and a bar and restaurant (open during high season only) to keep you sated all day long or before/ after your sightseeing trips.

Liked Peaceful. Trees gave some welcome shade from the summer sun. Beautiful setting. Very close to park and ride) for the train into the center of Rome. Train journey was about 35mins and cost around a euro per person.

Disliked Reception is at the bottom of a hill, no place to easily turn around with a caravan. Map provided by reception seems to bare no resemblance to the actual site layout - its certainly unclear. This is problematic as the roadways are narrow, have some tight bends with ditches, walls and other lovely obstacles designed to scrape your van, one is a particular highlight for those who like a challenge - sharp bend with walls leading to a steep pothole-ridden track.

Pool is not free, nor is it subsidised for paying guests and frankly seemed expensive. Toilets were generally dirty and fairly dilapidated.

To be honest, we were encouraged to view the site and resources before we handed over any cash as "refunds were not possible", there seemed to be genuine surprise that anyone would want to stay there, which should have rang alarm bells. We were only there for a few nights to break up our trip home so trying to find somewhere else wasn't really something we wanted to do. It was sufficient for our needs as we used our own loo and shower BUT I would not describe it as value for money or a cheap option.

It could be so nice, it is a real shame it has become quite run down. I'd say its stuck in a really difficult position of needing people to stay to get money to invest in up dating, etc. but is forced to almost encourage people not to stay rather than deal with complaints.

Liked Sombra en la parcela,la tranquilidad y el buen hacer en recepción.El precio.Es muy grande y hay mucho espacio,para nada da sensación de agobio.Muy buen precio para visitar Roma.Hay una estación de tren a 8 minutos que se llega en coche,y fácil conexión con el metro para ver la ciudad.

Disliked Es una lastima que un camping tan fantástico esté tan descuidado.Si los baños estuvieran limpios,las duchas,y la zona de lavar la vajilla sería otra cosa.
Mucha vegetación que no está podada.Falta mucha higiene,es solucionable.

Liked Ingenting alls. Sämsta jag varit med om!

Disliked Smutsigt, fanns inte de faciliteter som utlovades av karta och skyltar, extremt undersatt och oskött!!! Toaletter och duschar extremt ofräscha! Fanns inga disk eller tvättmöjligheter! När vi skulle till poolen så fick vi gå den långa vägen ner till receptionen för att få band som visade att vi bodde på campingen, (varför fick vi inte dessa vid incheckningen?) när vi sen kom tillbaka till poolen fick vi betala extra ändå för att komma in till en smutsig pool och ofräscht område och omgivning!

Hail the regular shuttle bus from Seven Hills Village for a teeny sum to be set down at La Giustiniana station, a 20-minute subway ride to the Vatican. From there, Rome awaits: mosey along to the Coliseum, Trevi Fountain and St Peter's Basilica, or just amble around the ancient streets and squares among the old architecture and green public parks. Arty sorts should most certainly check out the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, the MAXXI museum and the National Gallery of Modern Art; if your appreciation of beauty tends to be more fashion-based, take your euros and your clothing taste to the swish boutiques of the Via dei Condotti. Outside the city, it's about 35 minutes' drive (or a bus ride from the metro station) to the vast waters of famed Lake Bracciano, one of the biggest lakes in Italy. There's the ancient town and the medieval castle of Orsini-Odescalchi to potter around in the lake vicinity, but if you'd rather get out onto the water, sailing, swimming, diving and canoeing are all available.
