The spectacular seafront setting of Camping Internazionale Castelfusano means you can have both: it's slap bang opposite a big sandy beach, and only 25 kilometres from the fab old piles and centuries of history of Rome. Campeggio Internazionale Castelfusano is three kilometres from the town of Ostia, under an hour from Rome by public transport. Base yourself here for beach days and city sightseeing, wildlife wanders in the State Natural Reserve of the Roman Coast next door, and proximity to sailing, horse riding, tennis and scuba diving, all within five kilometres. The site runs a kids' club in summer with activities such as crafts and juggling, alongside evening entertainment for all including live music and theme dinners. There's a pool and a playground, a TV room and table tennis, and a bar, restaurant and mini market. Among the amenities are a launderette with washing machines and tumble dryers; a washing-up area, and three washrooms with toilets and free hot showers. Barbecues are allowed and gas cylinders are available for sale.

Liked My stay was very pleasant. The employees are very friendly and helpful. The Camping place is right next to the beach. There are also free beaches a few bus stops down the street where dogs are also allowed. Some of the beaches have restaurants on the beach. It is possible to get to beaches, to Ostia Center, to Rome and to Ostia antica conveniently on public transportation without having to take the car/RV out of the camping place. It takes 50 min to 1 hour 20 min to reach the city. We went to Rome on the metro very often to see it's treasures. The bungalow that we had was nice and functional, had AC and 2 bathrooms.

Disliked It was difficult to book the vacation on your site. According to the online booking site, there were no bungalows available and a campsite only for 2 weeks. When we got to the camping place, there was much space, and we could book a bungalow for our entire stay on site. This circumstance keeps travelers from utilizing the camping place as staff directs people to the online site for booking.

In Rome there are skillful thieves. Travel only with limited cash, and ID for entrance to venues! If there is a commotion, direct your attention away from it toward your valuables. Avoid parking your car in areas with little traffic. We left it at the camping site or at the Metro station and had no problems there.

Liked Schöner ruhiger und naturbelassener Campingplatz. Gute Lage in Richtung Rom wie auch zum Strand. Direkte Busanbindung vor dem CP nach Rom.
Daran denken, dass das WLAN nur im Empfangsbereich verfügbar ist und die Geschwindigkeit besser sein könnte.

Disliked Die Anzahl an Duschen sollte der Anzahl an Besuchern angepasst werden.
Toilettenpapier war oft nicht vorhanden.
Sanitärbereich ist in die Jahre gekommen.
An den Waschbekcne wie auch zum Geschirrwaschen gibt es nur kaltes Wasser.

Liked Camping très propre. Et ombragé.
Le personnel parle très bien français
L'accessibilité à la plage est vraiment appréciable et elle est gratuite, chose rare en Italie. Le bus est juste en face, il emmène direct à la gare.

Local attractions

In between all those days in Rome, explore the local coastline and its beaches, the wildlife areas and heaps of other old sites and ruins in the region. Sailing, horse riding, tennis and scuba diving will keep you busy in and out of the water within five kilometres of the site. Next to Campeggio Internazionale Castelfusano is the State Natural Reserve of the Roman Coast, covering almost 16,000 hectares including the last section of the Tiber and the mouth of the Arrone river, in an area of dunes and villages, archaeological remains and pinewoods. The ruins of Ostia Antica and the Castle of Julius II are within the reserve, 10 kilometres from base. Rome, 25 kilometres away, has enough old sights (the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and St Peter's Basilica for starters) to keep you geekily occupied for yonks, but if you yearn for yet more, a good day trip is to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hadrian's Villa and Villa d'Este, 50 kilometres away at Tivoli. Less culturally but most amusedly, the Zoo Marine amusement park and Rainbow Magicland theme park are 10 and 40 kilometres away.
