A green garden setting and a golden sandy beach: seaside site Camping Golden Garden has both sorted from its Minturno setting at the mouth of the Garigliano river between Lazio and Campania. This Lazio site has its own private beach as well as easy access to outdoor activities such as tennis, cycling, fishing and sailing in the immediate area, and is within 15 kilometres of Formia, Gaeta and Sperlonga. Within a couple of kilometres is the vast and viewsome Riviera di Ulisse Regional Park, spanning the entire southern coast of the Lazio region. Golden Garden is shaded by a dense network of pines and has a café-bar, a bowling alley, a football pitch and a volleyball court, as well as table tennis, a games room and evening entertainment. The site has plenty of toilets and showers, a drying room and a washing-up area.

Liked Das mehr ist direkt vor dem Camper, Waschbecken am Platz.

Disliked Es ist dreckig, die Duschen sind großteils kaputt, bei den Klos gehen zum Teil die Türen nicht zu. Die Gegend rundum gleicht einer Müllhalde, 2-3km weit ist nichts. Ohne Auto (nur mit Wohnmobil) nicht zu empfehlen.

Liked Piazzola molto ampia, con comodo lavandino per le stoviglie, ombreggiata.
Il campeggio non è grandissimo ed è immediatamente sul mare. La spiaggia è corta ma si può usufruire dei lettini e degli ombrelloni del solarium che si trovano vicinissimo al mare. Bagni datati ma molto puliti. Docce con acqua calda e fredda a disposizione di tutti i campeggiatori. Personale molto cortese e disponibile. Siamo stati di passaggio in pieno agosto e per tutto il weekend, al mattino, passava un fornitore di pesce fresco. Moltissimi bambini che giravano in sicurezza e in gruppo.

Disliked Ci è parso un campeggio frequentato da molte famiglie stagionali. Ne risente un po' la quiete perché gli stanziali tendono " a fare quello che gli pare" facendo mancare la sensazione del bene comune.
Per aumentare il comfort, forse, rifarei i bagni e terrei con maggior cura le zone comuni.

Liked Gastgeber sehr freundlich.
Sanitär Anlagen älter aber sehr sauber. Hatten warmes Wasser und 1 Meter runter zum Strand war mehr als perfekt.
Wir waren die einzigen auf dem Campingplatz hatten somit alles für uns.
Diesen Luxus muss man genießen.
Da der Platz etwas abgelegen liegt mussten wir ein bisschen suchen nach Lokalitäten die noch geöffnet haben da wir auch in der Nachsaison hier waren, wurden jedoch direkt am Strand fündig und dort konnten wir dann sehr sehr billig essen 🔝

Disliked Konnten nichts negatives feststellen

Disliked Es un camping viejo y abandonado. Las instalaciones están muy poco cuidadas. El área camper la usaban como vertedero, estaba impracticable. No tiene restaurante.

Local attractions

About 500 metres from Golden Garden is ancient Minturno, a busy Roman city around the times of Augustus and Caligula. Remains of its aqueduct, amphitheatre, temples and forum can still be seen, along with its later historical sites such as the Middle Ages baronial castle, the cathedral and the Church of St Francis. Less than two kilometres away is the edge of Riviera di Ulisse Regional Park, named after Homer's Odysseus, who moored his boats in the region known these days as the Gulf of Gaeta. As well as the wildlife and marine life, the park is full of ancient and archaeological sites including the Villa of Tiberius at the coastal town of Sperlonga, which has a museum showing the old grotto with groups of sculpture on Odysseus and his travels. Also within easy reach are the famed and volcanic sulphur baths of Suio, around 20 kilometres away, used for millennia for their therapeutic properties.
