Fancy trying Parma ham and Parmesan cheese in the very province from where they come? Staying at Le Terre di Ginevra, a 45-minute drive from the city of Parma, gives you the next best thing to a zero-kilometre experience. This peaceful site sits on a farm in the foothills of the Apennines, and to make sure you don’t miss out on any local gastronomic treats the owners can arrange all your daily meals (yes, including breakfast) by reservation. And it goes without saying that the produce and products they use in the kitchen are top quality, locally grown and organic (indeed, often from their very own garden). When it’s time to burn a few calories (and with all that gorgeous wholesome food, you will likely need to…), there are plenty of walks and bike rides to be had in the surrounding countryside. Or you can head up to the Stirone and Piacenziano Regional Park (half an hour’s drive), where you might spot colourful European bee-eaters nesting in the clay walls along the river Stirone. Your canine buddy is a welcome guest at the site, which has a dog park for those last-minute just-before-bed walks. And if you’re travelling with children, they can keep themselves entertained in the playground or the on-site BMX track. Other amenities include a toilet/shower block (with large cubicles for guests with mobility issues), a washing-up area and a parent-and-baby room.

Liked Rarely give a review but possibly this is why we go campervanning.
There is no getting away from the fact that this is a very basic site, basically a flat piece of ground in a large garden. The facilities are also basic, a toilet and shower combined. However, the water is warm and what else do you need?
The owner cooks a basic meal which was delivered to our table outside our 'van.
There was nothing to do, no WiFi, no signal. It was just lovely.
However, if you want anything sophisticated then this is not the place for you.
€42 for site and basic dinner for two.
Perhaps too much use of word 'basic'!

Disliked At some time the bathroom facilities need an upgrade!

Liked Absoluut heerlijke rustige plaatsen. Stilte alom. Er was plek genoeg. We kregen heerlijke lasagna en een karaf wijn geserveerd bij de tent, gemaakt door moeders en Leonardo had de cake gemaakt voor dessert. Alles heel erg simpel maar oh zo leuk.
Leonardo is een goede gastheer.

Disliked Sanitair is absoluut te weinig. Een wc met in dezelfde ruimte de douche...wel lekker warm overigens.
Gewoon even de douche naar de ruimte voor de wc halen of andersom en je bent klaar.

Liked Die Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit, die Freudlichkeit der Betreiber, kaum Mobilnetz. Strom vorhanden.

Disliked Die Unterkunft zu finden (gps-Daten bitte aktualisieren!). Möglichkeit der Entsorgung der Chemie-Toilette.

Liked Twee uur voor aankomst gereserveerd via de app. Bij aankomst worden wij hartelijk ontvangen in het Italiaans, geen idee… Maar we krijgen een plekje onder in de tuin, en ‘s morgens een ontbijtje bij de bus!!!!

Liked Sehr herzliche Gastgeber. Idyllisch gelegen und sehr ruhig. Wir wurden gefragt, ob wir Frühstück oder Abendessen wollen. Wir haben uns für Abendessen entschieden und super leckere Hausmannskost erhalten.

Disliked Sanitär sehr einfach, ist ja aber auch kein Camping Platz.

Liked Wunderschön ruhiger Garten. Man kann sich den Platz frei wählen und steht unter Bäumen. Die Familie ist super gastfreundlich und bemüht. Das lecker Essen haben wir sogar an unseren Platz serviert bekommen! Es gibt zwar kaum Handy und/oder Internetempfang aber das trägt nur weiter zur Entschleunigung bei. Ein super Ort um mal runterzukommen:)

Disliked Die Toiletten/Duschkombi ist zugegebenermaßen sehr simpel aber dafür sauber.
