Five minutes’ drive from the pretty, half-timbered town of Ahrbrück, Camping Denntal is a peaceful campsite with neatly maintained, spacious grass pitches (all with electric hook-ups and a water supply) in the middle of lushly forested Eifel foothills. This welcoming, family-friendly site offers up lots of leisure activities to keep whole families nicely busy, including a kids’ play area in a sandpit, a pool table and a small swimming lake for cooling off on sunny days. Adults can head for the gym to hone their fitness regime, and then soothe any aching muscles in the wooden sauna post workout. You can keep everyone fed and watered on site too, thanks to a daily bread delivery service and the campsite restaurant, which serves up an all-day supply of family favourites like burgers and fries. Practical amenities include a modern shower block, washing machines and dryers to take care of any laundry, and baby-changing rooms with baths for the youngest guests – plus there’s even a dedicated shower for any muddy canine pals.

Disliked Only one bathroom facility so its a bit far from the tent field. But if you dont mind the walk thats ok.

Liked Very friendly staff on arrival, given the token for the shower which was fine, good stop off point if staying for one night, dont think I would stay longer. Site had a bar and resturant plus a shop.
If it could improve the touring pitches it could be a super site.

Disliked Shower/toilet block was only one shower and one toilet for each sex for a site that could cater for 20No. pitches plus, so if you want the loo or shower get up early or go early afternoon. Site could have done with a bit of TLC, ad hoc electric points and water points, so make sure you take an extension cable, also the site does have reverse polarity.
Wi-Fi hit and miss.

Disliked The fact that at the tent area there were parking some people which didn’t actually stayed at the tent area, just to have the car close (even if the parking area was closer to their van), and he was doing a scandal about it for me to move my car on an exact spot because who knows what reason. On that spot that he was mentioning, I was blocking two other cars, even if I was not blocking him. I would suggest for better regulation in terms of parking your car in your designated area and not in the tent area if you are not staying with a tent in camping.
Also, why paying 4 euros for electricity since there was only one power plug available for us? At least give is a power plug close to our tent and then ask us for the electricity money. Wifi speed was ridiculously slow in 2025.

Liked Ich war mit meinem 13 jährigen Sohn für 3 Übernachtungen auf der hinteren Zeltwiese (die sehr eben und gepflegt war) hier. Begonnen mit einem sehr freundlichen Empfang -trotz verspäteter Ankunft- bis zum Checkout, war der Aufenthalt top.
Der gesamte Platz ist sehr sauber gehalten; speziell auch der sanitäre Bereich...dieser wurde öfter am Tag gereinigt.
Es war sehr ruhig, so dass man entspannt in den Schlaf finden konnte.
Der Platz ist schön gelegen, um direkt mit Spaziergängen in der Natur zu beginnen. Gleichfalls bietet der Platz auch Möglichkeiten, um sich die Zeit angenehm zu vertreiben, wenn man nicht weit weg möchte (Billard, Fitness, Wellness...). Wir haben diese Möglichkeit nicht genutzt, daher kann ich nichts über den Zustand berichten; jedoch ist alles andere auf dem Platz im äußerst gepflegten Zustand.
Wir würden den Campingplatz bedenkenlos weiterempfehlen und werden bestimmt wieder kommen.

Disliked Bei uns war das WLAN nicht so dolle; jedoch wollten wir Natur, insofern für uns nicht so tragisch.

Liked Easy check-in with very helpful staff. A very clean and quiet site. Good price for the amenities, showers and electric was extra but very fairly priced.

Liked Nice quiet site, clean and tidy.

Disliked Very very expensive. Everything is extra and by the time you check out you would have been as well staying in a hotel. 2 nights £100 (2 people a dog and a motorhome) Do not take card payments, has to be cash. Wouldn’t recommend as there are far cheaper options.

Not far from Nurburgring which we visited.

There are numerous sporty adventures to get your teeth into around Camping Denntal, including hiking and cycling trails through the spectacular Eifel region as well as the pretty villages and wineries of the Ahr Valley (10 minutes’ drive). Anglers and riders have got lots of options to follow their hobby in the region as well. Families can take a trip on rollercoasters and water rides at Phantasialand amusement park (50 minutes), or exercise the friendly furry beasties at Hirschbach-Alpakas Alpakawanderungen (five minutes). For more demanding activity, head for the treetop rope courses at Forest Adventure Tree Climbing Park Bad Neuenahr (35 minutes), while all petrolheads get their money’s worth at Nürburgring racetrack (half an hour), with its busy schedule of motor races and events. Any culture vultures among you should clamber up to medieval Are Castle (15 minutes) to have an amble around its ramparts and take in spectacular views of forested Eifel hills. Once a top-secret underground HQ for the Federal Republic of Germany, the Government Bunker Documentation Center (half an hour) is now open for guided tours of its tunnels, offices and sleeping quarters.
