A quiet rural spot to lay your head. Excellent Bavarian dishes available right next to your pitch. Liking the sound of that? You should be thinking seriously about booking a stay at Zur Burgschänke Friedrichsthal, a small family-run site in the middle of Ansbach countryside with grass touring pitches, a restaurant and beer garden. The camping meadow is predominantly flat, with no set pitches so you can settle down in your favourite spot. Views extend over lovely countryside to the edge of the forest – gateway to scenic Bavarian hiking and cycling jaunts, and as there’s no light pollution, at night the skies dance with a starry display. There’s no need to fret about catering matters at all when you stay here, as there’s a breakfast service available – just be sure to put your order in the night before. The traditional tavern serves hearty local dishes and on warmer days there’s no better place to be than the romantic beer garden – both are open all day. Dogs are very welcome on your Bavarian getaway; the owners just ask that they stay on a leash around the site, and that the field be kept clean of waste for other campers.

Liked Wir waren durch Zufall auf euch gestoßen. Und waren so positiv überrascht und begeistert, wie es bei euch ist. Die Aussicht vom Stellplatz war Mega. Und diese Ruhe ein Traum. Dazu gab es noch sehr nette Gäste und sehr nette Gastgeber. Auch das Essen hat uns super geschmeckt. Wir kommen definitiv bald wieder :)))

Disliked Negatives haben wir nicht wirklich was gefunden.

Liked Very friendly owners. Beautiful location with dark skies. A tavern on site where we had beers with free WiFi. Great electricity.

Disliked The hosepipe for the drinking water was the same hosepipe as for cleaning out the chemical toilet. Dangerous and horrible!

The chemical toilet pit was horrible. You had to lift the cassette three feet in the air and aim the contents at a fairly small hole, with the stink of others effluent.

From the manager: Hallo danke für die Bewertung, das Trinkwasser wird von dem Waschbecken der Toiletten geholt und nicht von dem Schlauch den man für die Chemietoilette ausspült dass haben sie gänzlich missverstanden. Schade dass sie nicht gefragt haben, ich hoffe auch dass sie diesen Schlauch nicht genutzt haben.
Trotzdem alles Gute ihnen.

From the manager: Hallo wir haben keine Strom Kabel im Bad hängen das Kabel dass sie gesehen haben ist von der Heizung die wir abgeklemmt haben da fließt kein Strom. Ja ich habe gesehen dass keinen Seife mehr da ist und auch die Reinigungstücher sind verschwunden haben die leute brauchen können. Dafür kann ich nichts. Ich habe die Heizung nun raus gestellt damit derartige Missverständnisse nicht entstehen. Dass es so dreckig ist entspricht nicht den Tatsachen lediglich der Boden war etwas mit Wiese beschmutzt weil mein Mann den Stellplatz frisch gemäht hat. Den bringen die Leute in den Kontäner. Sie hätten mich jedoch auch ansprechen können, sie hätten mir sagen können was ihnen nicht gefällt dann hätte ich etwas ändern können haben sie nicht sie haben hier gegessen warum haben sie nichts gesagt? Komisch wirklich. Wenn mir was nicht passt dann rede ich direkt mit den Menschen aber dass ist in der heutigen Zeit nicht mehr angesagt man lacht den Leuten ins Gesicht und dann schreibt man eine schlechte Bewertung. Weiter so!

Disliked As described, lovely place to stay, the owners are wonderful, bring a touch and don’t expect much in the way that f wash facilities. Bring a bag for rubbish, try the food, it’s amazing, take a walk in the countryside. If you have a mobile home and arrive with water, you’ll be fine. We left our at home so probably couldn’t have stayed there comfortably for more than a night but only due to the wash facilities. Honestly, lovely little site. There was live music the night we stayed, authentic German music, absolutely fantastic.

Liked Mit einem Wort … Super!!!!!!
Um das Drumherum lässt sich streiten, aber dafür wir so nett und herzlich empfangen worden. Uns wurde mit Strom geholfen und für eine Unterhaltung war immer Zeit!!! Und das Abendessen eine glatte 12/10.
