Camping l'Eden de la Vanoise

Several top skiing areas are close by: it’s a 10-minute drive to La Plagne, and between 40 and 50 minutes to Tignes, Val d’Isère and Les Arcs. Many ski lifts operate in summer and can accommodate mountain bikes, meaning hours of hikes and rides through the fab scenery of Vanoise National Park. The 11-kilometre bike trail between Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Aime runs along the banks of the Isère; if you want to get on the river, head to the H2O Sports Evolution centre, a couple of minutes from the site, for whitewater rafting, kayaking and canyoning. For more relaxed times on the water, it’s a 10-minute drive to Le Gothard, whose lake has a sandy beach with supervised bathing, barbecue areas and zipwires in the nearby forest. If you're a zipwire enthusiast, there are around 15 more to sample in the valley, some up to 150 feet high and 650 feet long. You might need a relaxing massage after that high-altitude stuff, so make for the spa at Montchavin, 10 minutes away, for all things pampering. And for indoor larks without a cowbell or a crampon in sight, try ten-pin bowling at Les Arcs.
