The air just feels different up at 1,000 metres above sea level – as you’ll quickly find out when staying at Camping Onlycamp Les Petites Roches. This Isère site is surrounded by the fabulous views of the Chartreuse Regional Natural Park, an area full of alpine meadows, soaring mountains, rivers and waterfalls. Different people find that the fresh mountain air has different effects on them – some find themselves simply wanting to relax and take in the views from a gentle walk. Meanwhile, others find the surroundings inspiring them to try out all sorts of adventurous activities. Both groups are catered for very well around here, with nearby activities covering everything from easy walks to days of canyoning, paragliding and hang gliding – local providers cater for all ages and abilities. Whether you’ve chosen chills or thrills for your day out, the site is a lovely place to relax and take in the sunsets and starry skies later on. The site’s snack bar is open in high season, and you’ll also be welcome to bring along a barbecue to cook your alfresco dinners. A grocery store, bakery, restaurants and other shops are all within a kilometre of the site. The magnificent views are the main draw with this site, but it’s got a good collection of facilities to its name too, including a launderette, a chemical disposal point and bathrooms with accessible facilities and a baby-changing area. A play area, pétanque court and volleyball court are on hand for your downtime. The one thing that’s (purposely) not provided is wifi – but frankly the scenery here is so spectacular you probably won’t feel much of a need to look at your screen anyway…

Liked Location stunning, pitch a good size!
Toilet and shower block very good condition and very clean on each occasion visited!

Disliked No Boulangerie order system and when asked about the nearest was given directions told a 5 minute walk away open at 6.30 in the morning!
6.30 next Morning a Thursday I arrived at the Boulangerie to discover it was closed on Thursdays!
Disappointed by the member of Staffs blasé attitude! Totally unlike staff I experienced at other sites on the vacation!

No on-site bar/restaurant or pool which have been at other establishments charging a similar price!

Concernant votre voiture, en effet certains emplacements ne permettent pas le stationnement du véhicule selon là où il se trouve. Nous vous avons proposé un emplacement intimiste dans un espace non praticable en voiture. Néanmoins nous disposons d'autres emplacements vous permettant de stationner votre véhicule, n'hésitez donc pas à nous en faire part lors de votre prochain séjour afin de prendre en compte ce critère.

Local attractions

It’s all about the open-air activities around here, and there are several ways to get out and enjoy the mountain scenery. There are lots of great trails for hiking and mountain biking, with Vallee de Graisivaudan (20 minutes’ drive) and Plateau des Petites Roches (40 minutes) a couple of the favourite areas. If you’d like to see your surroundings from above, try a paragliding flight with Prevol Parapente (five minutes) – or just ride the Funicular of Saint Hilaire du Touvet (20 minutes) if you’re not quite up to flying through the air. Back at ground level, there’s a lake beach, fishing and an adventure park at Base de Loisirs Lac de La Terrasse, or wakeboarding at EXO 38 wake park (both 20 minutes). For gentler days, try a trip to Grenoble (35 minutes) to ride the cable car and visit the museums and Bastille Fortress, or head to Chambéry (45 minutes) for its Old Town and cute Fontaines des Éléphants.
