See for yourself by settling in on a comfy sun lounger on the site’s lakeside terrace as you gawp out over the pair of private lakes. Swimming is allowed, for cooling dips on hot days – or hardy ones on cooler days; there’s a waterslide if you’d like to make a splash with your entrance. Dry off afterwards ready for table tennis in the games room, a lazy sprawl in the TV room or a feast at the lakeside restaurant. Do make an effort to tear yourselves away from those views every so often, though – you’ll be within easy reach of famed Alps highlights – Chamonix and the cable car ride to Aiguille du Midi are within half an hour’s drive, and ski resorts such as Combloux and Megève are 15 and 25 minutes away. Just want to max out the lake time? Trot over to Lac de Passy, a few minutes’ walk away, for beach days, kayaking, windsurfing and fishing. Supplies of all sorts are in the sizeable town of Sallanches, five minutes’ drive away. No need to head up there at the crack of dawn though; the site restaurant sells bread and croissants every morning.

Beautiful mountain views from the lake
Previous reviews criticizing the pitch layout - there are no pitch layouts basically, just find a space and pitch there and drag your electric cable as far as it will go to a plug. This didn't seem to cause an issue for most though

Disliked Not the camp site fault but lots of mosquito so be prepped
One shower wouldn't stay on, the others were ok but were not very powerful and hard to wash long or thick hair

Liked Beautiful view from the lake.

Disliked Noise from busy road and train track.

Showers and toilets have recently been improved, however toilet roll availability was a lottery and no hand soap is provided.

Toilet seats were strange plastic clip on ones. I assume this made cleaning easy when removing. Unfortunately it also means they are quickly covered in pee because they are always down and can't be tilted up.

Liked La vue, les sanitaires propres, l’accessibilité depuis les villes. Le lac à proximité.

Disliked - Le bruit de l’autoroute et de la ligne de train à proximité. Même avec des boules quies il y a un bruit constant même de nuit.

- Emplacements non délimités, pas droits, durs et racineux/pierreux. Nous avons eu du mal à piquer notre tente.

- Peu voir aucunes lumières sur les chemins, ni les sanitaires durant la nuit.

- Les douches ne sont pas pratiques, il n’y a rien pour accrocher ses affaires.

Liked That we could book a couple of nights where others in the area wanted a minimum no of nights that were too many for what we needed for a quick stopover.

Disliked Disorganised campsite. Were given a map with numbers but couldn't see any numbered pitches at all. The toilets were dirty, showers weren't great no hand soap to wash hands and generally untidy site. Skip for rubbish that was open and smelt very bad as it was overflowing.

Local attractions

Hikes and bike rides are easily accessed in the mountains around the site, several from Sallanches under your own steam and more available to book with local guides. Three highlights are the routes around Mayères Alp, the Veran valley and around Doran; the Sallanches tourist office (in the 14th-century castle at Quai de l'Hôtel de Ville) is open from Monday to Saturday for info on these and on guided tours. By car, set off for trips to Chamonix, for shops, cafés, restaurants and more heady Mont Blanc views, plus rides on the cable car ride to Aiguille de Midi, rising 3,842 metres from the town centre. Skiing is easily accessed around the area – 'tis the Alps, after all – and the blue waters of Lac Bénit are within 50 minutes' drive if you'd prefer warmer pursuits amid scenic lakeside walks. If you're holidaying with kids or teens, Sallanches has a couple of playgrounds, a skate park, a public pool, bowling and a big indoor play centre for ages up to 12. Paintballing is available at Passy, 10 minutes' drive away.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

General

In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
Quiet hours must be respected between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m..
Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and boots must be closed quietly.
