  • Peaceful family-friendly site in rural Ardèche with a river
  • Train de l’Ardèche within 30 mins' drive; 40 minutes to Palais Idéal
  • Outdoor pool, restaurant, miniature golf and summer kids' club on site
Welcome to a little corner of the Ardèche that’s all about natural attractions – at the end of a quiet and scenic rural road, Camping L’Oasis is a place where you can indulge in simple pleasures like listening to bird song, picking blackberries as you walk or simply sitting on the riverbank and watching the water flow… Between the villages of Ardoix and Eclassan (and about 10 minutes’ drive from either), this is a real little wildlife haven where fish swim in the rivers and red kites fly overhead – and there’s a little herd of cheeky dwarf goats on site too for good measure. That natural landscape provides a fair amount of entertainment on its own – perhaps walks through the local farmland or some time spent splashing about in the river? Sometimes that alone isn’t enough for a family holiday though, so the site owners have wisely made the effort to provide a whole swathe of leisure facilities too, including an outdoor pool, miniature golf, play areas, trampolines and a pétanque court. Come along in July or August and your youngsters will have even more options to choose from, as this is when the kids’ club swings into action with various sporting, food and other activities every day from Monday to Friday. And Thursday night is party night, when guests gather at the restaurant for evenings of music and dance. Plenty of practicalities are sorted here too – the site has a launderette, shared barbecues and family-friendly bathrooms. Freshly baked bread and pastries are sold on site every morning, and there’s also a bar/pizzeria/ice cream parlour where you can acquire meals, drinks and treats and relax on the terrace.

Route directions

Don’t follow any satnav instructions that take you via Ardoix, as this route can be difficult for caravans and motorhomes. Instead, head in the direction of Eclassan on the D6; when you reach La Patelle, take the turning towards Chemin de Fourany, follow this road for four kilometres and look out for signposts towards the site.
