This Provence site is pretty well set: two kilometres from the old town of Cavaillon, at the foot of the Luberon mountains in the Luberon Regional Park and within easy driving distance of Provence villages, castles, vineyards and festivals galore. And – if you also crave sand on a French hol, it's less than an hour from some spectacular Mediterranean beaches too. Camping La Durance is a big and family-friendly site, with spacious mixed pitches by hedges or under shady trees. A good cluster of facilities (including a tennis court) should keep the troops busy during site-based hours, and as an added bonus guests have free access to the community swimming pool next door. There's also been plenty of attention given to the clean modern amenities of toilet blocks with free hot showers, a launderette and a washing-up area. Sort supplies for a pitchside supper in the shops and Monday market of nearby Cavaillon, or stick around in town for foodie evenings and Provence specialties in the local restaurants and bars.

Liked 3 jours passés au camping pendant le week-end de l’Ascension, les espaces pour camping-car sont grands, les sanitaires propres ; c’était très calme, l’accueil sympa. Coté animation, je ne sais pas ce qui est prévu en été.

Disliked Plutôt une remarque : le bâtiment d’accueil est tristounet, un peu de couleurs seraient les bienvenues il manque peut-être un bar-restauration rapide.

Nous sommes ravis que le camping vous ait plu.
Pendant l'été, il y des animations proposés par la piscine et par la ville de cavaillon. Le camping n'en propose pas.
Maintenant que la piscine est ouvert, nous clients ont accès à la buvette de la piscine.
Le bâtiment d'accueil mériterai en effet être un peu plus coloré. Une opération de rafraîchissement est prévue, mais pas dans un avenir proche. Nous avons essayé d'égayer les lieux avec des fleurs, mais le mistral et la chaleur font qu'elles ne tiennent pas longtemps.
Nous espérons avoir le plaisir de vous accueillir à nouveau.

Liked Gute Ausstattung, sehr sauber, und Empfang sehr freundlich und entgegenkommend. Perfekt als Ausgangspunkt für Radwanderungen, auch durch die Option, Fahrzeuge länger zu parken.

Disliked Temperatur der Duschen nicht regulierbar, kann sehr heiß werden

Wir hatten tatsächlich ein Problem mit der Wassertemperatur in den Duschen: erst zu kalt und dann zu heiß.
Ein Techniker hat das Problem behoben. Jetzt sollte es besser sein, aber wir behalten es im Auge.

In early April, we unfortunately had to deal with several staff members being absent due to illness, whilst nature, of course, carried on as usual. This temporarily affected the general maintenance of the camper area.

Regarding the showers, one of the six has this problem with the push-button. Despite several attempts to fix it, we have not yet managed to resolve this, but we are continuing to work on it to improve the comfort of our guests.

As for road noise, our establishment is located in an urban area rather than in the countryside, which can indeed result in some noise depending on the direction of the wind en the place in the campsite.

We thank you for your understanding and for your feedback, which helps us to improve.

's morgens om 8.00 was men de sanitaire blok reeds aan het kuisen.

Disliked Het water van de douches mocht wat warmer zijn.

Teeny and traditional rural villages are dotted around the Luberon region landscape, well within an hour's drive from Camping La Durance: try Gordes, Oppède, Mérindole, Roussillon, Rustrel and Lagnes for days' worth of sightseeing as well as potters around their traditional Provencal markets. Also about 30 kilometres away is the splendid old city of Avignon, on the left bank of the Rhône. Its most famed sights are the Palais des Papes, Avignon Cathedral and the Pont d'Avignon, all making up the UNESCO World Heritage Site in the town centre, but the views of the city over the river from the gardens of the Rocher des Doms are certainly not to be sniffed at, and its many museums (like the Petit Palais and the three floors of natural history at the Museum Requien) are also top city picks. Other good picks in the area are the Lavender Museum at Coustellet, the Thouzon cave or cave of fairies at Le Thor, the art shows at quarry Les Carrières de Lumière, the animals and nine kilometres of walking trails at Barben Zoo, and the high bike rides around Mont Ventoux, nicknamed the Beast of Provence for its jelly-legged tough climbs.
