Can’t wait to get going on your Var holiday? Book a berth at Villatent at Camping Les Pêcheurs and you can simply dump your bags and get going: everything’s already sorted at these smart safari tents, including beds, kitchen kit and a private bathroom. This family-oriented site is right by the river in Roquebrune-sur-Argens, in a pretty spot that’s also handy for exploring various corners of the Côte d’Azur, including the fine resort of Fréjus, 15 minutes’ drive away. Closer to home are plenty of bike and hiking trails – including those that will take you all the way to the coast if you’re so inclined. All of this assumes that you’ll make it off site – and that might be tricky, given the amount of things that might distract you. Archery, pétanque, canoeing, football games and aqua gym sessions are all on the cards here, as are all sorts of activities that run every morning in summer (except Saturday) for kids aged 4-12. On top of that are the heated pool area, which has a large swimming pool and a kids’ pool, and the adults-only outdoor wellness area (with a hot tub, sauna and pool with whirlpool and massage jets, plus massages and facials to book for a tad more pampering). There’s no need to go out for food either, as there’s a grocery shop on site along with a restaurant serving up lunches and dinners. In high season it’s also the venue for live music a couple of times a week (finishing before midnight so everyone can get some sleep). Other shows and foam parties keep the action going on other evenings.

Local attractions

Your first stop for outings nearby should be the park’s reception, as the site often organises activities including wine tasting days, scuba diving trips and horse riding on the beach. If you’re roaming under your own steam, make the first port of call Fréjus (15 minutes’ drive) for beach times, history-tinged wanders around its cathedral and archaeological museum, and family days out swooshing down the slides at Aqualand waterpark. To explore the coastline a bit more, it’s a 40-minute drive to Saint-Tropez or Cannes or just under an hour to Nice (and there are plenty more lovely spots to seek out in between these famous resorts too…) Turning attention inland, you should certainly make time to admire the huge Rocher de Roquebrune (10 minutes) and learn a little about the past at the Musée de la Liberation (10 minutes).

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.

Changes to your holiday

Changes cannot be made once you have booked.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

General

Bookings are nominative and non-transferable.

In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
