Where better to start explores than in the village? Gassin is known for its fine position on a rock overlooking the coast, nearby towns and mountain peaks. It’s also home to several vineyards and wineries – check out Château Minuty, Château Barbeyrolles, Domaine Tropez and Domaine La Rouillère (clearly, for balance you'll need to try them all… as if you needed an excuse). Get closer to the coastal views by heading sea-wards – the beaches start a 10-minute drive away, with those of the famed Saint-Tropez around 15 minutes away. For a break from the sands and celeb-spotting, visit the Citadel of Saint-Tropez Maritime History Museum, a nautical museum housed in a 17th-century fortress. For family shenanigans, kids (both small and big) may like to head to Azur Park (10 minutes), an amusement park with 35 attractions and miniature golf, or to the waterslides of Aqualand Sainte-Maxime (20 minutes). Or scale some treetops at Aventure Famille (25 minutes), which has tree climbing courses and ziplining for the whole gang. Boat trips to the three Golden Islands (Les Îles d'Or) are also a good shout for hikes (and more beaches).
