Treat yourself to a top camping break at Le Both d’Orouet, a green and spacious campsite just under three kilometres inland from the gorgeous Vendée coast. Created several decades ago on the spacious grounds of a traditional farm, this family-run park just south of Saint-Jean-de-Monts has held on to its rural vibes and sense of peace. Le Both d’Orouet's well-maintained facilities blend in nicely with its green setting, with highlights including an outdoor pool, a kids' playground, a laundry room and an on-site shop. There's little wonder many of the site's guests return here year after year, sometimes over several generations… An on-site restaurant and bar are also available, and La Bourrine d'Orouët, a nearby eatery a kilometre away from base, is strongly recommended by your hosts for its calm atmosphere and traditional Vendée menu. As you venture further afield, you'll be able to visit sandy beaches with views over the spectacular Île d'Yeu (a few minutes' drive) as well as smart seaside resorts on Île de Noirmoutier (30 minutes) or Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie (15 minutes). While a shop is available on site, if you ever need the services of a supermarket there are a couple within roughly five minutes' drive from base.

This is a welcoming, clean and peaceful campsite with spacious, level pitches and good facilities, including a nice swimming pool and play area. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the location is close to nature and a small town. Entertainment and activities are highly praised. Un agent de sécurité qui veille à la tranquillité après 23 h mais pas facile
Emplacement de taille correct pour notre caravane avec eau et électricité.

Disliked De ne plus avoir de sanitaire 2 fois 4 jours sans eau chaudes, des urinaire et WC bouchées obliger d'aller dans un autre sanitaire près de la réception. Pas facile avec ma fille de 8 ans.
Aucune wifi, tv impossible
Grâce aux animateurs nous sommes rester nos 3 semaines car sinon nous serions partis

Liked Moto friendly. Good pool, bicycle hire, quiet site, decent facilities. Bread shop and tabac / bar 5 minutes walk. On site food and drinks facilities were closed due to late in season. Staff friendly and helpful.

Thank you for your opinion.
Our new 'co-shower' system makes it possible to limit the abuse of certain people who occupied the showers for far too long to the detriment of other users.
Since this summer, the water flow time has been limited to 8 minutes per token, in 30-second increments interspersed as many times as you wish, to scrub yourself, soap yourself, ... for example .
If this is not enough for you, you can consume a second token.
Our users have rather told us of their satisfaction... We regret that this is not your case.

Liked Pitch was a good size with about 50 percent shade.
Good toilets and lots of them. The facilities near reception even provided toilet roll.

Disliked Some elements of the site aittle tired. Bar did not look very inviting. Late night fight in the pitches opposite.

First, it's time to talk islands. This area has two particular impressive îles that you absolutely must see – the far-famed île d'Yeu, which can be reached by ferry via the terminal at Fromentine (30 minutes' drive), has a rugged landscape that makes quite the contrast with the long sandy beaches of the Vendée coastline. Île de Noirmoutier (30 minutes) is another promising option and doesn't involve boarding a boat, as this marshy island is accessible via a causeway (time your visits carefully if you don't want to get cut off at high tide – or just take the slightly less magical 1970s bridge instead). If remaining on the mainland and admiring the islands from afar is more your bag, you can do just that in resorts like Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie (15 minutes). Alternatively, seek out kid-pleasing day trips at attractions like the must-see Puy du Fou theme park (an hour and 20 minutes), explore culture and cuisine in the large city of Nantes (an hour) or take the time to learn more about the local flora and fauna at Biotopia nature museum (20 minutes).
