You may have surmised from the name that there's a beach near the Vendée site of Camping Côté Plage. Directly accessible within a couple of hundred metres, in actual sandy fact, with more (so many more) for your beachy leisure all around.
The beach you'll likely be spending most of your time on here is La Parée-du-Jonc, just north of the Vendée seaside resort of Saint-Jean-de-Monts: yes, that's the Vendée beach that's eight kilometres long, and yes, Saint-Jean is close to other famed regional seaside spots like Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez and Saint Gilles Croix de Vie. And yes, the Vendée department has over 200 kilometres of Atlantic Ocean coastline for you to happily and sandily investigate too.
Accommodation areas on site are among those pine trees, on a huge and shaded park with top-notch facilities and activities for all ages. There's a fine big pool complex with a main pool and waterslide for adults, as well as a paddling pool (and their own teeny slide) for tinies, and plentiful sunbathing space to spread out on. If you're feeling active, aqua gym and water polo are among the events held here too – but you may just prefer to retreat to the bar terrace overlooking the water for a cocktail or two instead…
Summer sports activities also await for the actively minded, and a book corner, paid wifi and a restaurant and ice cream sales for the decidedly not.

Local attractions
As well as all the (many) spectacular beaches nearby, this is a forested and a biking area too.
Camping Côté Plage's setting between the island of Noirmoutier and another seaside resort at Les Sables d’Olonne (both fab, both famed) is between maritime pine forests and high golden dunes, with access to some of the Vendée's hundreds of kilometres of cycle paths running through the local woods and marshlands as well as along the coast. Hire a bike on site to see how far you can get, or content yourself with peaceful rides around Saint-Jean and Saint-Hilaire.
Also famed in the region and within easy reach are boat trips around the local salt marshes (access them from Marais Salants de la Vie in Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez) and to the island of Île d'Yeu, 60 minutes' ferry ride from Saint Gilles. Noirmoutier, less than a kilometre from the coast, is reachable within half an hour of the site, via the bridge of the Passage du Gois from Beauvoir-sur-Mer.
