Electric grass pitch (comfort)

Liked Pool - very clean
Facilities - always being cleaned and plenty of hot water in the showers. Toilet roll and toilet seats in the older of the two blocks.
Pitch - good size and ours was mostly shaded, much appreciated in the heat. Very quiet at night.
Location to town - excellent but up steep hill, Super U (with fuel station) in town.
Staff - very polite and helpful
Overall a really enjoyable 4 nights.

Disliked Nothing.

Eden electric grass pitch (riverside)

Liked As perfect as it gets!
Lovely sized site just a short walk from beautiful Montreuil Bellay and it’s stunning Chateau. Even before you get there, just as you get out of the camp gates you stumble across ruins of Nobis Priory.
The pitches are not enormous , but big enough and we had plenty of shade in the heatwave. Pool very pleasant with lots of beds. Large jacuzzi area, very relaxing .
A bar / restaurant on site. Lovely large washing machines at 5 euros a load .
Fresh bread and croissants can be ordered for the morning.
Location is good to reach places of interest such as Saumur , Troglodyte village, Bioparc and Angers.
Staff very helpful and friendly .
We purchased extra wi fi at 18 euros for two devices for a week which I thought very reasonable and signal brilliant
Loved it

Disliked You just need to be careful , when you are in Montreuil Bellay and following signs to Les Nobis, to not go down roads where there are signs not to take motorhomes and caravans . Just obey the signs and you will have no problem !

We think we’ve found our new favourite campsite in France.

Electric grass pitch (premium)

Liked From our welcome to our departure, the staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. All the facilities were first rate, and very clean. Our pitch was perfect and a good size.
The campsite itself is in a beautiful spot sitting at the bottom of the chateau, very easy access walking into the town.

Lovely site. Great location.

Eden electric grass pitch (riverside)

Liked Good position by the river. Nice big pitch. Very friendly staff. Good menu in restaurant. Pizzas very good.

Disliked Not really a dislike but..
Only one shower in public block.
Long stretch from pitch to nearest power.

From the manager: Hello,
We are delighted that you had a pleasant stay.
We have a total of 12 showers in the 2 communal toilet blocks and 3 brand new private shower rooms. You must only have found the new one. We will improve our signage.
We look forward to welcoming you back.

Electric grass pitch (comfort)

Liked Really nice site, great for kids with the pool, play area and go karts for rent. The village is lovely too with a stunning Chateau and even a few quirky second hand shops. Nice bakeries and a supermarket within 15-20 mins walk.

Disliked Water outlet for motorhomes is not protected from use as a cassette cleaner, didn't want to use it as it is a cross contamination hazard. Suggestion is maybe to add a permanent extendable/reel hose to it and install the hose to the wall nearby.

Local attractions

The splendid old Château de Montreuil-Bellay (viewable from the site; see pics again) sits high up above the waters of the Thouet on a setting of over 400 hectares – head here for spectacular scenery over the river and countryside below, and a tour around the castle and gardens if you're sensible enough to book in advance. After that, drop into Montreuil-Bellay to pick up the leaflet and map detailing the many fine spots to stop off at in this town, including the workshops of local potters, bookbiniders and other craftspeople. More actively, use Montreuil-Bellay as a base for Thouet for fishing and canoeing, or head off on horseback, foot or by bike on the region's marked trails. Within 15 minutes' drive, seeing the 100 or so species of the zoo at Doué-la-Fontaine makes for a smashing option for a day out, or if you're still craving cultural adventures you can reach world-famed Fontevraud Abbey, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in 25 minutes' drive.
