Camping Les Tilleuls

A lively day lies ahead in Gavarnie (15 minutes’ drive) with its hiking trails and many scenic points, like the Pont Napoléon bridge. During summer, a bungee jump opens up at the bridge, something that adrenaline-seekers will surely be tempted by… If that’s a little too daring for you, head to Luz-Saint-Sauveur (20 minutes) for a day of skiing in the winter or hiking in the summer. Next to the river Bastan, the lovely village is nicknamed ‘Luz’ by locals. A lazy day can easily be had here, as the village has gorgeous thermal baths. There are also excellent views back over Luz from Château Sainte-Marie Esterre (20 minutes), a ruined castle 630 metres above sea level. Barèges (half an hour) may also catch your attention, as it has a ski resort, gorgeous summer hikes and access to the famed GR10 trail. A bike park is on hand here for those who want to hone their skills while taking in the stunning mountain views.
