- Peaceful family-friendly site next to a lake in Carladez countryside
- Château de Messilhac 10 minutes’ drive; Lac de Sarrans 20 minutes
- Fishing, swimming pool and pétanque on site, plus a small bar
What a fabulous location for some quiet time in the lush Carladez countryside. Up at an altitude of 640 metres (for cool fresh air) and on the banks of a lake (for relaxing watery views), Camping de Trionac has a splendid seven acres where guests can relax and soak up the scenery and atmosphere.
Far-removed from the lively pace of some of the bigger campsites, this is a secluded spot with partially shaded grass pitches tucked away among trees and hedges. It may be a quiet, family-friendly spot, but you can be sure there’s plenty to keep you nicely busy. Anglers can practise their casts on the pond, and other on-site amenities include a swimming pool, pétanque and volleyball courts, and ping-pong tables.
There’s also a small bar next to reception where you can pick up snacks and regional wines for a super evening soaking up the last of the day’s sunshine. If you need to stock up on anything, there’s a supermarket about five minutes’ drive away in Taussac.
Sitting on the edge of the Aveyron and Cantal departments, this site is well placed for all sorts of outings, from château visits to outdoor adventures. The knowledgeable staff at reception can help you book things like horse riding in the Aveyron hills (10 minutes’ drive) or watersports on Lac de Sarrans (20 minutes), and advise on hiking and cycling routes in the area around the site.

Local attractions
There’s some gorgeous countryside around here – and plenty of great trails to help you take it all in. Lac de Sarrans (20 minutes’ drive) is a local favourite, with several routes running along the lake edge and into the surroundings. For an easier time, head to Belvédère du Barrage de Sarrans (20 minutes) for views over the dam. The Cascades du Saut du Chien and Gorges du Pas de Cere are both half an hour away for waterfall views.
Got something different in mind? How about the treetop trails of Aloa Nature Accrobranche (half an hour) or the climbing routes of Via Ferrata du Bois des Baltuergues (40 minutes)? Back firmly at ground level, you may also like to wander among the deer at La Vallee Des Daims (50 minutes) or go donkey walking at Les Ânesses du Carladès (15 minutes).
For a bit of heritage, take a tour of Château de Messilhac, visit the Rocagel Michel farming museum (both 10 minutes) or get set for an unusual experience among the bagpipes of Musée des Cornemuses du Monde (35 minutes).
