Would not stay there if you paid me
Electric grass pitch
Liked nothing
Disliked everything. We pulled up onto the area where the sign said stop and a lady came out to see us. She said oh I wasn't expecting you until tomorrow so I showed her the pitchup confirmation and she said she would show us the site, adding that if we didn't like it we didnt have to stay !!! We went down to the camping area which as the weather was so hot did not have a blade of green grass, it was all dead which we honestly expected and would accept because of the temperatures and lack of rain, but there was also not a level part of the site and we spent an hour checking this out which makes it difficult with a motorhome. We inspected the "toilet/shower" area. One toilet and one shower. There was one cabin that was occupied which appeared to be in good condition, but no other cabins that we could see that were not completely incapable of housing anybody. The above ground pool was up the top of the hill where the owners properties were. This was a large round pool. The general area of the owners properties looked from the outside in a dilapidated condition and we did not stay long enough to take any pictures. I booked this site because the photographs were beautiful and it looked amazing. The reality was completely different. Our electric cable also would not work with their system even though we had a few options that we could use as we have come across this in other parts of France and thought we had everything that would work, but not this time, so we decided not to stay. We drove back up to the farm buildings and found the lady we spoke to before and explained that we could not connect to the electrics and decided not to stay, she did try to tell us that she could probably find something that would work with the electrics but we had already made up our minds and that place was not for us. She accepted this and we made arrangements for us to stay at another place we had been to before and moved on. Honestly the photographs and the write up were what caught me, but the reality was a far cry from what the place was really like. Once again I regret not taking photos as it was unbelievable.

From the manager: Hello, thank you very much for your review.
As you said yourself, we cannot control temperatures or dryness of our site as it has been over 35/40 degrees for the past probably month or two, so yes, that is what it does to our land and to the surroundings.
If you would’ve contacted us, we would’ve helped you to find a better spot for your motorhome, never have we had issues with people not finding a right spot, and we are always willing to help if solicited, without that there is not much we can do to help.
There is indeed one toilet and one shower on our six spot camping site, we also have one more available shower and two bathrooms at the top of the hill in the bar and two further ones in the back of the barn. If I remember correctly, you were the only one on the campsite so it shouldn’t have been a problem.
If you check on the website, there is multiple accommodations for rent around the lake, which are rented for the summer, and there is also a bed and breakfast and we are currently building one more chalet/tent on the campsite. I do not think this should be something you are concerned about if you are there for the camping itself, and I find it sad to spread misinformation like this without knowing.
The pool was next to the bar, this is visible on the website, most guests do not use it because they like to swim in our lake.
You might have missed that this is a farm camping and that what is surrounding our house is part of our business and has nothing to do with our camping, on top of that we are building everything up ourselves by hand and so yes that needs material and we invest a lot of our time and work hard to get everything up and running.
These pictures have been taken by a photographer before the season so nothing was invented on it and no, we cannot control the colour of the grass.
If you would’ve contacted us, we could’ve helped you with your electric situation, we rarely have issues with that and if it wouldn’t have worked, we would’ve found another solution for you but you did not ask for our help before turning around.
Also, you did not spend one hour down there trying to find a spot, you took your dogs out use the water and from what I can see, maybe our bins (images of what goes in what bin are on the bins themselves, really easy) , turned around and left again.
I also love how your private feedback and what you said before leaving looks nothing like what you are publicly publishing.
Also, the « keep the deposit » was very nice, but that does not go to us that goes to pitch up.
Please don’t hesitate to come back to take the pictures, and say to our faces what you’re writing on the Internet, and maybe with a discussion you would realise that we are not what you say we are and you could actually enjoy it, or maybe you were expecting a five star, painted grass camping for €19, that’s also possible.
Bon vent!
