- 110 metres from a lakeside beach and close to a watersports centre
- Excellent English spoken on site
- Heated pool, homemade local cuisine and loads of summer activities
If your language skills for France are nowhere native, fret not, as Marion and Thierry at Camping du Lac de Bournazel have you sorted: excellent Anglais is spoken here.
This warm and friendly site is in the green department of Correze, a kilometre and a half from the lively town of Seilhac. It has direct access to a 32-hectare sandy beach within a couple of minutes' walk for fishing, waterskiing and safe family swimming (the waters are lifeguarded in summer).
On site, there's enough to do for all ages to keep everyone occupied from dawn to dusk and beyond, including free activities from sports tournaments to dances arranged for kids and teenagers in high season, and regular events for grownups such as evening music and food tasting.
There's a pool too, heated, open from May to September and surrounded by a solarium for lazy days of sunbathing. Overlooking the pool is the summer snack bar terrace, with a full menu of drinks and bites (think Rocamadour pizza and Limousin duck and beef) served in high season from Thierry's kitchen.
Welcome drinks are held every Monday, a Correzien communal meal arranged once a week, and local merchants visit the site regularly if you want to learn more about the local cuisine. All activities apart from the Correzien meal are free, and all end at 11.30pm at the latest so you can catch the correct amount of snooze time before getting ready to get stuck in all over again the next day.
Camping du Lac de Bournazel also has bike hire, a TV room and board games for guests' use.
