Sun, sea, sand … and bags of things to do. That sounds like the recipe for a fun-filled family camping holiday, especially when your chosen site is bang on a Mediterranean beach at Palavas-les-Flots in Languedoc-Roussillon – and there’s water all around, as the eight-hectare Camping Le Palavas also backs on to the Étang du Prévost. Head for the sandy beach for a choice of watersports, or make a beeline for the pool complex, swim a few laps, watch the kids come down the waterslide and catch some rays on the sun deck. When you’re ready for more action, knock balls around on the multi-sports ground, hone your pétanque skills or play billiards in the games room. You also have a ton of organised entertainment for all ages, including mini-discos and kids’ parades in the company of mascots Topy and Homi. Teens can create their very own schedules with the help of the dedicated in-house events team. And as it’s your holiday too, you get to enjoy aqua gym sessions, pool games and dance lessons by day, and attend musical shows and clubbing evenings after dark. No need to worry where the next meal is coming from either, as there’s a mini-market, bar, restaurant and pizzeria at your disposal on site.

Liked Randonnée en vélo, aussi a pied très agréable .Très belle longue plage sauvage très bien entretenue. Beaucoup de flamand rose a observé.
Le personnel du restaurant très sympa et très pro.

Disliked Dommage que le restaurant n'est pas plus protégé quand il y a du vent frais.
Le vent s'engouffre a l'intérieur.

Liked The location is stunning. We could see the sea from our pitch and didn't even need to put sandals on. We almost didn't come based on reviews but were glad we did for the location. Restaurant and restaurant staff were good too. Excellent pool with slides.

Disliked Mosquitos everywhere. Poor cleaning in the toilets even after that had been cleaned splatted flies all over walls and sanitary bins had no lids. Poor facilities for motorhomes e.g. no hose to fill water. Disgusting black waste emptying. Laundry machines ate our money . It's such a shame as it has the potential to be an amazing site. Needs some tlc and routine deep cleaning of the toilet block.

Disliked The site was full of mosquitoes and insets. I know the weather dose not help but no attempt was made to spray or anything to get rid of them in the toilet or shower area also they were just splattered on the walls and not cleaned also a very bad smell I personally would not use them. Complained and still waiting for a refund or awnser. Very rude

Liked The pitch is literally on the beach which was a huge win for our kids 14,9&4.
They enjoyed the pool too. However, it was always extremely busy.

Disliked The pitches were quite uneven and very hard to find toilets/wash blocks.
Checking in was very hard work. We arrived later and there was still a huge que.

Disliked Jammer geen water op de standplaats.
Jammer dat sommige mensen de toiletten zo vuil achterlieten,
Stoelgang en urine op verschillende brillen !
Ligt niet aan de camping maar aan de vuile bezoekers,
Alles werd dagelijks schoongemaakt,
Er is wel een punt die niet in orde was vh onderhoudspersoneel,
Elk doucheputje zat propvol haar,
Dit werd nooit verwijderd 🤮
Echt vies

Een zeer grote aanrader om te eten is de strandbar

Liked Die Lage des Platzes direkt am Strand ist traumhaft. Viele Stellplätze mit direktem Blick auf den Strand. Kleiner Supermarkt der morgens auch frische Baguettes und Croissants verkauft, sowie ein Restaurant und ein Burgerwagen für den kleinen Hunger zwischendurch. Poolanlage mit reichlich Sonnenliegen plus Liegewiese. Teilweise Animation am Pool und Abends auf der Bühne. Sehr freundliches Personal. Große Duschkabinen in die man auch als Familie hineinpasst

Disliked Weite Wege für Müllentsorgung und Wasserversorgung. Sanitärbereich inklusive Duschen fast immer dreckig. Es steht und fällt sicherlich mit den Gästen, aber bei einem Sandstrand würden Flitschen zum reinigen nach dem Duschen schon helfen. Die Toiletten waren vom ersten vis zum letzten Tag dreckig, die Wände teilweise mit Kot beschmiert. Ein Animateur weniger, eine Putzkraft mehr würde schon helfen.

Liked Het prachtige uitzicht op zee,de palmbomen en het heerlijke restaurant.
De plekken voor de campers waren van mul strandzand. Gelukkig waren er oprijplaten beschikbaar.

Disliked De wasdroger was stuk, de douches en toiletten stonken en er lag overal haar

Local attractions

With the Med, Étang du Prévost and Lez River all close by, you can take your pick of sea fishing, jetskiing, diving, paddleboarding or adrenaline-inducing tow rides. Once you’ve exhausted yourselves in the water, hop on the tourist train and head into Palavas-les-Flots (10 minutes’ ride) and treat the kids to rollercoaster rides at Luna Park. Fancy a change of seaside scenery? Alternatives include the lively marina at Carnon (10 minutes’ drive), or the long swathe of sand at La Grande-Motte (20 minutes), backed by modern apartment blocks. Take a family walk along the saltwater lagoon at Sète (half an hour), and wind up your tour of local resorts in a seafront bar at Frontignan (25 minutes) to sample the local Muscat wines. Turning inland, the vast amphitheatre at Nîmes (45 minutes) and the soaring aqueduct at Pont du Gard (an hour) both date from Roman times. If the kids tire of history and culture, appease them with a visit to Planet Ocean World at Montpellier (half an hour).
