In the Hérault department in southern France, Agde is the Mediterranean port of the Canal du Midi. You’re close to local shops and several beaches, as well as museums and the famed Fort Brescou. And set across four peaceful hectares, Camping Le Maridor is peppered with plenty of shaded spots to pitch up at, and has piles of facilities to keep guests of all ages occupied for aeons. Getting out and about under your own steam is easy around here too, as you can hire bikes on site and ride along the UNESCO-listed Canal du Midi, around the area’s many cycle paths, or instead to Roquille beach within 15 minutes. Small folk have plenty on site to keep them busy, with playgrounds and a bouncy castle, a ping pong table, pétanque, multisports and beach volleyball courts, and a paddling pool next to the main pool. And for the grownups? The pool area includes a hot tub. During peak season there’s plenty of extra stuff to keep amusement levels high on site, like aqua gym sessions, sports tournaments and kids’ club activities during the day, and evening entertainment nightly. The restaurant and brasserie serves meals on the roomy poolside terrace; there's also a communal barbecue area if you’d prefer to self cater.

Get out and about by bike to explore the area, along the UNESCO-listed Canal du Midi or within 15 minutes to the shores of Roquille beach. If you’d rather take it easy, right in front of the site is also a bus stop that’ll ferry you to Agde rail station and Cap d’Agde, for easy access to la Roquille beach and Agde’s harbourside and markets.
