What customers say

This campsite benefits from a scenic lakeside location with direct access for swimming and water sports, and offers large, private, shaded pitches. Facilities are generally clean and well-maintained, with hot water available for showers, though some mention them being a little dated. Staff are frequently praised for being helpful and friendly. The site is popular with families, with good playgrounds and activities. However, some guests found the location isolated and noted issues with noise and supervision from a summer camp, leading to a negative experience for some.

Liked Not much

Disliked Cleaning times of toilets and sharing with men. Lake closed due to dangerous algae bloom in water - this was discovered on Augustv18th but only announced on 22nd after my family spent 2 days in water

Electric grass and earth pitch

Liked That we left after one night

Disliked Worse site we have stayed on in over 30 years of camping in Europe.Hundreds of kids on site at a summer camp not being supervised when using facilities. We couldn’t use the toilets/ showers/washing up for most of the evening. No toilet seats or toilet paper. Verbal abuse aimed at us for being English. Described as a peaceful site on pitch up… definitely not! Quiet time supposed to be from 10.30pm, still being noisy at nearly midnight using toilets, banging doors and cleaning teeth at washing up sinks. When concerns were raised with staff the following morning they didn’t seem to want to know.

Electric grass and earth pitch

Liked We were in a motorhome so always like to find places nearby to visit, we cycled round the lake - took half an hour. The beach area on the lake looked nice but we had 2 days of thunder and rain so kept us in unfortunately. If you have children there were lots of other kids for them to play with!
We had lunch in the cafe just outside the site and we really enjoyed it- would recommend.
There are cycle routes and walking routes around the site but the weather scuppered us.

Disliked Site quite isolated
Strange situation with toilets, they were right next to the washing up area- no privacy.
Bit of a dated site, staff friendly enough and the facilities were clean.
Not great if you don’t like the sound of children playing outside at 8am!

Local attractions

With Vesoul’s pretty medieval centre and the streets of La Motte a prime example of the historic buildings in the town, scenic wanders are pretty easy from this site. You could stop by the town’s museum, Musée Georges-Garret (half an hour’s walk), to learn about art and archaeology or just potter around the many shops and cafés in Vesoul. For walks that will challenge you a little more, Parc naturel régional des Ballons des Vosges (around 45 minutes’ drive to the edge of the park) has all sorts of landscapes and the active pursuits that go along with this type of place, from hiking and mountain biking to watersports on the lakes that are deeper in the park. The history buffs in your group might want to take the drive down to the Saline Royale d'Arc-et-Senans (an hour and 10 minutes), a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has a long history and architectural past, with activities and events that often take place on the grounds.
