Electric grass pitch (private bathroom amenities)

Liked Private shower and toilet facilities on the pitch were very useful. The ability have a large fridge delivered really gave extra space for keeping drinks cold in the very high heat.
The two pools were clean.

Disliked The pitch we were on had no shade which of course would be a benefit for some but it did become a bit of a battle of attrition.
The site is very noisy with children who seemed to scream from sunrise to sunset so probably not the site for you if you want a relaxing break.
Could do with more shade areas around the pool
WiFi was very poor. Ended up buying an eSIM

Electric grass pitch (private bathroom amenities)

Liked Nice area, freindly staff and close to Tours and the cycle path along the Loire.

Disliked The site we were put on needed a mow and levelling as bumpy and not well kept. The toilet door was warped and needed sorted. Some facilities not open like in door pool initially. Just felt generally un kept.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Initial greeting on arrival was very pleasant. However WiFi wasn’t explained.
Place looked clean and tidy.

Disliked Unfortunately our pitch (161) was extremely uneven, big bumps. Only needing pitch for 1 night we made it work however if we needed to be there longer this wouldn’t have worked with our van and awning.
The snack bar was out of stock of over 50% of the menu.. the food we did order wasn’t great.
The day we left we went to the shop in reception to pick up some water for our journey and there was only 1 in the fridge, I asked if the had anymore ( extremely politely I may add as I am very conscious I don’t speak French so try and compensate with smiles and manners!) and I was answered with a straight NO
I feel for mid August I would expect stock to still be high in most items.
We stayed at many sites and this site made us feel very un welcome.

Fully-serviced grass pitch

Liked There’s really nothing much to dislike about this campsite. It’s easy to get to, being less than 10 minutes from the main road. Supermarket 2km away ( SuperU) and fuel station but there is an Aldi as well that also sells fuel. €0.10 per litre cheaper than SuperU!!
Our “comfort “ pitch was huge, and very quiet, even though we were there over a public holiday weekend. Reception team very efficient and friendly.
The “bar” was open during our stay but to be fair it’s just a cabin that sells cans of beer, wine and soft drinks, along with pizzas, panini etc. Adequate but only just. However walk 2 minutes across the road to the Auberge and all is forgiven. The food is top class ( you need to book!) but if you only want a drink there is a separate comfortable area.
Tours is literally just up the road and there is loads to do. We drove in and parked in the Indigo car park opposite the main station. Parking for almost 5 hours was €4.70. Bargain.
So yes we will definitely go back to the site next time to do more exploring, possibly at a different time of year when it’s not so hot., it was creeping towards 40 degrees during our stay.

Disliked Only 2 minor niggles in the shower’s near our pitch, while clean? Were inadequate for the amount of of users, and the shower head was completely missing from one of them. Not a huge drama as we showered in the caravan but worth a mention. Finally the website says check in from 1500. We arrived at 1445, the barriers were open so we parked and waited for reception to open. Having waited for 10 minutes a passer by pointed out a box near the reception that contained details for all expected arrivals. The envelope contained a map showing which pitch, the barrier code in case it was closed and the WiFi details. So, if you arrive early and reception is closed, find your envelope and go and set up, call back to the office before the end of the day.
Check out is 12 noon but interestingly as we were having a late coffee before leaving, a couple walked around looking at the Nextdoor pitch, which has just been vacated. Shortly after they returned with their caravan! Obviously they had arrived VERY early and reception had basically said “ go and look and if your pitch is now free we’ll allow you on”

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Great location. A lot of nature around with nice walk trails. Very peaceful and clean. Polite staff.
Thank you.

Disliked Pitches could be more shaded. In summer when it’s hot, you want to hide a little from the sun.
