This is a marvellous Morbihan location – Camping Domaine du Morbihan is in a protected natural setting on the edge of the village of Ambon and between the Gulf of Morbihan and the Guérande salt marshes. That location means you’ll be in a lovely peaceful and leafy rural spot and also within easy reach of a lot of the area’s best attractions, including beaches, animal parks and characterful towns. Vannes, Carnac and Guérande can all be on your schedule here, as can the beach at Damgan (a 10-minute drive/15-minute cycle away), walks on the GR34 coastal path and boat trips to the gulf islands or beyond to Belle-Île-en-Mer. The beaches around this area are gorgeous, but you don’t have to go that far for a swim if you don’t fancy the journey, as the site has its own large aquatic area, with an indoor heated pool (open from May to September), an outdoor splash pad for the kids and a whirlpool/spa area where the grownups can relax. Back on dry land, there are playgrounds, sports courts, a pétanque area and a games room to keep everyone nicely occupied, and you can hire bikes to explore the local area as well. For eats, pick up supplies at the site shop to cook on your barbecue or head to the snack bar for easy meals, drinks and ice creams. Ambon village (10 minutes’ walk to the centre) has bakeries and a crêperie, and Muzillac (10 minutes’ drive) has a supermarket and several places to eat.

Electric grass pitch (private bathroom amenities)

Liked A generous-sized pitch with hedge boundaries. The luxury of a private cabin containing modern and clean toilet and shower facilities, plus kitchenette with fridge. Wi-fi available at the pitch. Very friendly and obliging personnel.

Disliked 4 étoiles qui ne les vaux pas du tout ou sont passés les toboggans etc ... qui sont sur le site accueil pas terrible et quand au bar snack a revoir le personnel un camping qui ne mérite pas 4 étoiles.

Disliked Pictures do not represent facilities. The site has been taken over by Camping Origin and is in a transition period. Clear changes happening - which will be for the better - but details not updated on site. Bit disappointed by the pool area, no slides as thought from pictures and description of site and layout strange. Sun loungers are by the drinks/seating area
Early one morning an old caravan was being dismantled - extremely noisy and not for warmed about this
