  • Beachfront site five minutes' drive from Nevez in Brittany
  • A 15-minute drive to Pont-Aven and 25 minutes to Glenan Islands boats
  • Pools, sauna, bar-restaurant; GR 34 route and private road to beach
Interested in white sand beaches, blue seas, deserted islands, the land of Paul Gaugin? No need to cross the Pacific for it. Brittany's Finistère region is a wild and windswept area of beaches and coves, harbours and cliffs looking out to clusters of islands off the Atlantic coast: much recommended… If you're a sensible sort who returns to Brittany year after year, be more sensible still and sort a stay at Camping Le Raguenes Plage, for a friendly welcome and a supremely comfortable setting a 10-minute stroll from the beach. Don’t hit the beach just yet though, as there’s a pair of pools on site to swim, float, slide and splash in, and other plentiful facilities including a games room, with table tennis, table football and a boules court. If you can spare the time, the team lays on daily activities and entertainments in the summer months. For more restful times, steam away your cares in the sauna or sip a glass of something in the sunshine at the bar.

What customers say

This campsite is praised for its lovely pools, clean facilities, and excellent location just a short walk from a beautiful beach. Many visitors highlighted the friendly staff, good-sized shaded pitches, and a pleasant bar area. While most found the site well-maintained and enjoyable, a few noted issues with Wi-Fi cost and patchy reception, occasional noise late at night, and some dated facilities. Despite minor drawbacks, many guests expressed a desire to return.

10-amp electric grass pitch

Liked The pool, the shop and how close the beach was. The bar was good.
They tried to give us a pitch in the corner but then the lady at the desk looked at our motorhome and said no and moved us we appreciated that.

Disliked The place seemed dated. The place is not clean at all there was poop smeared up the doors and walls and no loo roll you have to go all the way round the building to wash your hands no soap in anywhere to wash your hands. The electric box didnt work when you wanted to hook up to it and the guys before us complained for 2 weeks and noone went to sort it. Wasn't listened to at all. The showers were so gross you might aswell not bother having one.
There was no life guard in the pool area the kids were jumping in the pool to the point someone had abit of an accident but noone was there to help. Kids coming down the slide straight after each other and hitting each other at the bottom its an accident waiting to happen.
There's no cut off time for everyone to be quiet so music was blasting at 1am.
They pack you in like sardines realistically 4 spaces being filled with 8 motorhomes/caravans/tents. Wifi was quiet expensive this day and age you shouldn't have to pay extra for WiFi. Especially as it was upwards of €50 a night for the pitch and if your from uk you can only pay the tourist tax using cash which not everyone carries. This place has potential to be better.

10-amp electric grass pitch

Liked Lovely pools, clean showers and loos. Gorgeous beach a short walk away across the fields. Nice bar and play area for children. Great receptionist spoke 3 or 4 languages.

Disliked Not a lot to do in the local area if you only have bicycles. But plenty to keep you occupied on the site.
No wifi unless you paid a lot for it.

10-amp electric grass pitch

Liked Location, pitch, bar, pool.

Disliked Shower block ran out of hot water then out of action so asked to use one other end of site. Toilet waste disposal area poor, area being worked on - why do it in season. , no wristband checks for pool or anyone to sort bad behavior. Local encampment kids able to just come in - they were eventually made to leave.

15-amp electric grass pitch

Liked Lovely shaded site near beautiful beach.
Lots of trees, reasonable size pitches with services. Good toilet and shower block.
Lovely bar area, only open in the evening serving limited menu but nice food.

Disliked We were under a tree that covered us in catkins after some wind, the only one on the site that we could see and only affected us and our next door neighbour.

Liked Lovely shade... which was welcome in the heatwave and also just a 400 metre walk to the most beautiful Tahiti beach. Lovely people at reception and in the restaurant. Good base for Pont Aven and Concarneu too...

10-amp electric grass pitch

Liked The place was lovely! Tidy, clean and very chilled! We got our space, and chilled.
The showers/toilets/ facilities were great, clean, and didn't smell. The pools were lush, spent an afternoon there, and everyone looked happy!
The beach is also gorgeous, literally a 5 minute stroll! There are bins for your rubbish, a place to get rid of waste water etc. A bar, which we didn't go to but looked very nice, and a gym that we also didnt go to! All around recommend, and cant wait to go back!!!

Disliked It didnt bother me but there wasnt a lot of 4g/5g service, and it was patchy at best, but cant really blame them for that! Wifi was 2 euro for 2 hours i think and 10 for 20h, which you purchase at reception,

Liked Excellent site with a good pool. Serviced pitch, you could choose your own. Many were shaded which was great in the hot weather we had. Path to the beach, 300m.
Bread ordering service.

Disliked Wifi was an extra cost. One of the facility blocks was semi - closed which made the open one a little busy.

Local attractions

It’s 10 minutes' walk down a private and car-free road to the beach for swimming, fishing and watersports. If you’re conserving your energy, take the shuttle bus to the surf school from the site. For shops, eats, supplies and gentle wanderings, Nevez is a five-minute drive away. If you’ve got an urge to wander further, the GR 34 route (known as the Customs Officers’ Path) passes right by the site as part of a an 1,800-kilometre network of hiking trails along the Brittany coast. Should you prefer to stick to pavements, try arty Pont-Aven (15 minutes' drive) – former home of Gaugin and his followers and now to an excellent museum and gallery – and Concarneau (25 minutes), an old walled town with very snappable harbour and beach. Doable in a day (and you’ll kick yourself if you don’t), the stones of Carnac are an hour and 15 minutes away, near a burial mound and museum showing how humans have valued this part of the world for millennia. You’ll value this landscape too after a trip to the Glenan islands, an archipelago justifiably compared to Tahiti for its lagoons and wildflowers. Divers and sailors flock to the islands for the breezes and the clear seas, and hikers, strollers and picnickers are just as well provided for on the dunes and long beaches. Boats leave Concarneau and Bénodet (25 and 50 minutes) for the Glénan islands, or you could head an hour and a half away to Quiberon for sailings to bigger, busier Belle-Île.
