  • Finistère site surrounded by dunes in Site Natura 2000 de Guissény
  • Étang du Curnic 15 minutes’ walk and Plouguerneau 10 minutes’ drive
  • Short stroll from a sandy beach; caravan bar, pétanque and play area
A short stroll from a sandy beach in a protected Natura 2000 landscape. Cycling and hiking along the long-distance GR34 Customs Trail. Spectacular Atlantic views. That’s what you can look forward to when you book your stay at Camping du Curnic in Finistère, run by David and Manu, long-time friends and residents of the local town Guissény (five minutes’ drive) since 2003. Spread over around 10 acres, the campsite was extensively renovated in 2023, with solar-powered shower blocks and a constant supply of hot water plus outdoor facilities including secure bike storage and charging stations for electric bikes. There are lots of chances for family fun in the outdoors too, like the play area, pétanque courts and a laidback caravan bar (which serves takeaways too) with a sheltered terrace, while a food truck sometimes puts in an appearance as well. Accommodation comes in all shapes and sizes, with some pitches set among the dunes and others – neatly partitioned by hedgerows – closer to the aforementioned facilities. Dogs are welcome to join you on your Finistère jaunt, and no doubt they will welcome all the exercise as you explore the untamed Côte des Legends on foot. Happily the nearby beach is canine-friendly too.

What customers say

This tranquil campsite is praised for its spectacular location directly on a beautiful sandy beach and dunes, offering stunning coastal views and walks. Visitors highlight the very friendly and helpful staff, spacious pitches, and excellent, modern, clean facilities including hot showers. On-site amenities such as food trucks and a bar are popular, and pre-ordering fresh bread is convenient. Some minor points raised include intermittent Wi-Fi, a lack of motorhome service points (though this is being addressed), and restrictions on dogs on the beach during certain hours.

Haies electric optional grass pitch

Liked Everything. Great campsite, large grass pitches and lovely doune pitches - it was hot but very windy so being enclosed in a grass pitch, rather than on the dunes, was perfect. Lovely beaches beyond the dunes. Toilet/washing facilities were excellent , always spotlessly clean.
Reception staff were very friendly and turned their hands to all tasks.
Site has two cafe/bars one near the reception and the other down by beach. - we were there on Friday and there was entertainment including live band/music - fabulous. Visiting food trucks was also an added bonus - fabulous fish and chips accompanied by a few glasses of rose was a lovely way to end our stay. Can highly recommend without any hesitation.

Haies electric optional grass pitch

Liked We loved this campsite, right on the beach, a bar onsite and also one on the beach which have bands on on Friday nights, we ordered fresh pastries and bread most mornings. Staff very friendly and speak good English. The showers and toilets are unisex but that did not bother us and always very clean. We watched the most beautiful sunset from.the beach. There is a nice coastal walk to the town.
Only thing to consider here is if you have a dog as they're not allowed on the beach which we thought they were.

Disliked Absolutely nothing to not like here, we would definitely return 😃🏖️

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch

Liked Location, location 👍, a very basic site nestled amongst sand dunes. Stunning beaches and coves to explore. A warm welcome for caravans, tents and a Separate field for motorhomes.
Pitches quite large, modern facilities with music whilst you shower. A local friendly bar next to beach which is run by the site. Order bread and croissants for next day. Not much around in terms of shops so if once you’re pitched up you don’t move, make sure you visit a supermarket on the way. Would definitely visit again.

Disliked 6 amp electric. When site was full, electricity a little intermittent. Struggled to keep fridge cold.

Local attractions

Active families can keep themselves occupied with wild swimming, escapades aboard kayaks and paddleboards or learning how to sail dinghies at the Base Nautique de Guissény (five minutes’ walk, all abilities catered for). For the more adventurous, there’s also kitesurfing on reliable waves at quiet Plage du Vougo (15 minutes). Strike out from the campsite on the GR34 hiking trail to witness dramatic seascapes from the clifftops, or canter along the beach at sunset aboard ponies from the local riding school (five minutes’ drive). Alternatively, hire mountain bikes in Plouguerneau (10 minutes) to follow mountain bike tracks including the circular Hafen Morgat route over rough ground, for which some expertise is needed. For gentler days out, head to Étang du Curnic (15 minutes’ walk), separated from the sea by a narrow spit of land, to spot bitterns, sandpipers and swans among the reeds, or see if you can glimpse rare orchids on a stroll around the wetlands of Site Natura 2000 de Guissény (also 15 minutes).
