Not one… not two… not even three – but four golden sandy Brittany beaches are within a paltry kilometre's amble from family-friendly seaside site Camping de la Plage in Finistère. It's 15 minutes' stroll from the seaside resort of Bénodet where the Odet river meets the sea, 300 metres from the water and 400 from Benodet's main beach. Shellfish, shrimp and crab fishing, watersports and simply lounging on the sands are all exceptionally easy from this southern Brittany coast setting next to these four golden beaches; in town, there are art galleries and museums, a casino and crêperies to keep you occupied, while mountain biking, climbing and quite a few other outdoor activities are available nearby. But you'll likely want to laze around on site for some time too… For Camping de la Plage has a big and quite fab waterpark, made up of a covered pool, two outdoor pools, two waterslides, two hot tubs and a kids' paddling pool – plus outdoor aqua gym sessions in July and August. Among the many other facilities are a bar, an outdoor fitness circuit and a small indoor fitness room, a multisports court, a pétanque court, indoor and outdoor ping pong tables and a games room with billiards and table football. If you're hankering after some organised entertainment after long sunny days at the beach, karaoke, dances and themed evenings are held in July and August. Among the site's amenities are an accessible block with toilets, hot showers and a baby bathroom, and a launderette with washers and dryers. Barbecues are allowed.

  • Reception is unmanned after 7 p.m.. Please inform the site while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time, so that the team can provide information about your unit/pitch.
  • Units longer than 7 metres are not allowed.
  • The indoor pool is heated from 22/05 to 15/09 and the outdoor pool is heated from 01 July to 31 August.

Liked Les emplacements sont à l ombre de grands arbres.le camping est proche de la plage principale donc des commodités.

Disliked La propreté dans les sanitaires ( catastrophique). L eau de la piscine légèrement trouble ce qui m en a coupé l envie. La fermeture prématuré des sanitaires car le camping se vidait. Le manque d entretien général du camping, mes ronces poussent dans les haies les orties en bordure des emplacements. Des dizaines de tout petits déchets plastiques que j ai du enlever avant de m'installer . Réseau Wifi trop faible.etc...

Nous avons pris connaissance de votre avis que nous avons du mal à comprendre.
En effet, lors de votre réservation, vous avez demandé à ce que votre emplacement soit mi ombragé. Nous avons donc respecté votre demande puisque nous vous avons réservé un grand emplacement mi ombragé dans l'allée centrale du camping.
De plus, vous êtes arrivés au camping le 24 aout date à laquelle vous aviez encore le choix au niveau des emplacements. Si l'emplacement ne vous convenait pas, vous auriez pu en changer car il y avait d'autres emplacements disponibles à cette période! Il suffisait de le faire savoir à la réception!
Pour information, sur le camping, nous avons 2 sanitaires bien entretenus et nettoyés quotidiennement par une équipe d'entretien expérimentée. Ces 2 blocs sanitaires sont en fonction toute la durée de la haute saison d’été. A partir de la dernière semaine d'aout, date marquant le début de la basse saison, Il est vrai que nous maintenons l'ouverture d'un seul bloc sanitaire pour des raisons économiques évidentes.
Au vu de votre emplacement, vous étiez à mi chemin du bloc sanitaire ouvert.
L'entretien de la piscine est assuré quotidiennement par un de nos agents techniques. L'entretien du camping est assuré régulièrement mais comme vous le savez nous ne pouvons pas toujours contrôler le végétal!
Nous trouvons vos critiques sur le camping bien injustes pour un séjour réservé sur le tard et de courte durée!

Liked Overall site was clean and tidy.
Swimming pool was good for children.
Shop and snack bar was ok pizza were great.
Close to beach and shopping areas, but a bit of walk to superstore.

Liked Der Empfang war sehr nett ... Der Platzchef(Name leider vergessen!) spricht gerne etwas deutsch und ist bereit für Auskünfte aller Art ... was in der Region betrifft.

Disliked Saloppe Badehosen-Shorts für Männer sind im Schwimmbad verboten ....! Mein Mann hatte diesen Hinweis übersehen. Der Bademeister machte freundlicherweise ein Ausnahme! DANKE! ... Wir waren deshalb nur knapp eine Viertelstunde im Wasser. Zum Abkühlen wars tipptopp! – Achtung Männer, es gibt nicht immer freundliche Bademeister!!!! Mein Mann hatte Glück ...

Liked Swimming pools were great. Location was perfect with so many great beaches close by. Toilets and showers were clean and plenty of them.

Disliked - swimming short rules for children had never been an issue anywhere else in France. However here, even the children needed the awful tight shorts.
- Pitches where we were are so closely packed together.
- Customer service just seemed a bit off at this place in comparison to others.

Liked *Friendly Staff, very welcoming and helpful.
*Lovely pitch, good size with nice balance of natural boarders and privacy.
*Location was great, close to beaches and harbour.
*Pools and slides - children loved them.
*Good amount of toilets, showers & washroom facilities.
*Generally friendly atmosphere among all campers.

Disliked *Not really a dislike but would have been handy if there was a shop on site. Think there was supposed to be one, but we never saw it open. But we got good advice of where the supermarkets were and stocked up so wan't really a problem, just on our first day.

*Wasn't aware of the 'no swim shorts' rule for the pool and so had to buy 'swim boxers' on location. Would have been handy to have this in the Pitch Up write up/info so we could have provisioned beforehand.

Liked Everything about this site was great, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the toilets/showers are alway kept very clean and tidy. Perfect for the children also ours loved every part from the pools to the play areas, they were never bored and made lots of friends from all different places 😊. We took our tent and loved that each pitch was separate so you had your own space.

Local attractions

A few days at least should be spent on the four sandy stretches local to the site: the Benodet beaches of Trez, with beach club and beach cabin as well as catamaran and windsurf rental, 400 metres away; the protected lagoon of La Letty, 500 metres away; Saint Gilles, the spot for shellfish, shrimp and crab fishing, also 500 metres away, and Coq, a kilometre away facing the Odet river estuary. Within easy ambling distance too is a casino, within 600 metres, and the Benodet Seaside Museum within a kilometre, showcasing the town's relationship with the sea and how it's changed throughout the centuries. Benodet Marina, the departure point for trips to the Glénan Islands and Sainte Marine, as well as the starting point for many Brittany races and regattas, is two kilometres away. Also easy to get to from here is Quimper (17 kilometres), Finistère's capital and an anciently traditional city with cobbled streets, half-timbered buildings, footbridges and many residents wandering around in traditional Breton dress. Have a look too at the cathedral of Saint-Corentin, with its bendy middle (go see) and the nearby museum of fine arts, home to hundreds of paintings alongside regular events and shows. More must-see old piles are at Concarneau, 19 kilometres away; if your tastes tend more towards nature hikes, the Armorique Regional Natural Park is under 60 kilometres from Benodet.
