If you’re Burgundy bound and looking for a site with a difference, take a look at Camping de Pougues-les-Eaux, on the outskirts of the elegant former spa town of Pougues-les-Eaux. It has a peaceful location amid greenery, spacious grass pitches divided by hedges, picnic tables for dining en plein air and bike rental if you’d like to explore under pedal power. Life drifts by very easily on site, thanks to the safe playground, volleyball ground and pétanque court; there’s also a games room where you can watch TV or play billiards with new-found friends. Guests have discounted access to the municipal swimming pool next door, and there are dog walks around the pond. Still stuck for things to do? There’s a casino right next door… Food-wise, you can pick up essentials (including ice cream for the kids) at the on-site shop, and then cook up an alfresco feast on the communal barbecue. Liked This site was very clean, close to some shops and a park to walk the dog off lead. It would be a site I would use again. Swimming pool is right next door it is the municipal pool but you get a discount. Excellent restaurant called Auberge de Gare only 20 min walk.

Liked Shower block was nice and clean, each pitch well separated

Disliked If you turn up before 4pm the notice states call the mobile number and leave a message someone will attend; well they didn't and I don't appear to be the only one. Not sure if it was we only stayed one night at reception no information was given of what was where, not the best welcoming.
The booking site sates "Fully Serviced', no it's not, I do not call only EHU 'fully serviced, the description is misleading. The play area needs upgrading

If you prefer something more high-octane, you can watch motorbikes and classic cars racing at the Nevers Magny Cours Circuit (25 minutes’ drive). There’s loads to see in Pougues-Les-Eaux too: spend some time exploring the formal gardens and tree-lined trails in Parc Saint-Léger (10 minutes’ walk) before investigating the contemporary art collection housed in the delicate Belle Époque former thermal baths. Adjacent to the campsite is a casino where you can play the slots, take a spin on the roulette tables and dine in the restaurant.
