The site was located about 30mins from Banyeaux and 45mins from ferry terminal in Caen. It was a small site with 7 types of accommodation. We stayed in a yurt which was very spacious and good fun. The Tipis also looked really good and we would probably stay in one of those next time.

The site is very quirky and eclectic. The owners have focused on making this an eco friendly site, so a lot of the equipment toys etc are second hand etc. All of the toilets are compost toilets, which are kept very clean and changed daily.

There was a play area, boules area and an abundance of toys /games, bikes etc, although most of the bikes were in need of attention. The play area wasn't pristine but our young kids loved it and the site was small enough that we didn't need to worry about them, they just went off and played. This made our stay very chilled out and peaceful which is just what we needed at the end of a busy day site seeing.

There was a communal kitchen and sitting/eating area and this was fully equipped but there was also a seating area around the yurt or tipi so you could either be sociable or have some privacy.

The Owners spoke little English and we spoke hardly any french but that was fine as together we managed to communicate. The Owners were very friendly and welcoming, especially as we couldn't speak french. They made us all feel at ease straight away and were fussy over the children, checking that we liked the site and the accommodation.

Some of the toys could do with being replaced and the bikes etc could be fixed. Some of the seating was also broken and these could do with being updated. These points did not detract from the chilled out relaxed feel of the site. If you want a very clean, orderly site then this is not the place for you.
