Set on St. James's Way, Camping La Bageasse is a short distance away from the medieval village of Lamothe and only three kilometres from Brioude. Surrounded by valleys and hills, mountains and streams, this is the ideal holiday destination for nature lovers, hikers and bikers.

The site has a swimming pool and a paddling pool open from June to September, free wifi, a playground, a TV and games room, a pétanque court and a volleyball court. From May to mid-September guests can also enjoy a quick bite at the snack bar.

In July and August, the team organises regular entertainment and a kids' club runs twice a week.

Local city tax of €0.50 per day per person over the age of 13 is not included and must be paid on arrival.

    The lake, bar staff and restaurant


    Receptionist not always available and Wi-Fi only available in the reception area. Would have been great if there was a shared communal area for campers in tents.

On the A75 take Exit 20 if you are coming from the north or Exit 22 from south. Continue on the RN102 towards Brioude and follow the signs to the campsite.

Local attractions

Brioude with its Roman Cathedral, the medieval village of Lamothe, the vineyards in Vieille-Brioude, the Maison du Saumon, and the Château de Saint-Aubin-sur-Loire all all three kilometres away. The Château de Paulhac is just five kilometres away.

The village of Lavaudieu, listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France is just 10km from the site, and Puy-en-Velay, famous for its lentils is 60km away.

Permitted arrival/departure time

Low season: accommodation from 3pm to 7pm, departures by 10am, camping from 9am to 6pm, departure by 12pm. July and August: accommodation from 3pm to 9pm, departures by 10am, camping from 3am to 9pm, departure by 12 noon.

Camping La Bageasse cancellation policy

No refunds within 8 weeks of arrival date.

If you need to cancel or amend your booking, please give as much notice as possible so that someone else has the chance to book. You may wish to buy holiday insurance for cancellations and for your property/injury whilst away.

Please note that your deposit is paid to and is non-refundable.


A 15% non-refundable deposit is payable now. Camping La Bageasse will debit the balance from your card 8 weeks before arrival, or if the arrival date is sooner than 8 weeks then the balance will be taken immediately.

You can also opt to pay the full amount at the time of your booking.

Please read the park terms and conditions below and the terms and conditions.

Additional terms

1. Admission is only permitted after registering in reception. The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.

2. All guests spending the night at the campsite must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms. Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

3. Your unit must occupy the pitch allocated on arrival. You must follow the management directives when pitching your tent.

6. Campers are asked to avoid any noise or nuisance that may disturb other clients. Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume and tuned off by 9pm. Car doors and boots must be closed quietly. Complete silence between 10pm and 7am. Pets are only allowed if on leads and must never be left unattended.

7. Visitors must register at reception and pay their fee. Hosts are responsible for their behaviour.

8. The speed limit is 10km/h. No vehicle movement between 11pm and 7am. Only one car per pitch. Extra cars must be parked in the car parking. Bicycles must not obstruct car traffic.Twin axle vehicules are not permitted on site.

9. Please keep your pitch and the facilities tidy and clean. Dirty water, rubbish and any waste must be disposed of in the indicated areas. Hang your laundry in the room provided. Please be considerate of the natural surroundings, plants and trees. All damages must be paid for.

10.a Open fires are prohibited and any electric appliances used on site must not be faulty. Fire extinguishers and first aid kits are available on site.

10.b The campsite shall not be responsible for your personal belongings.

11. No rough or disturbing games are allowed at the campsite.

12. Units should not be left unoccupied unless previously agreed with management. Please speak to reception whether the need arises.

13. Accommodation: A €250 damage/cleanliness deposit is required on arrival for accommodation hire and will be refunded on departure after inspection of your unit should no damage/losses be found.

14. The following facilities operate during limited periods:

- snack bar: May to mid-September
- entertainment: July/August
- mini club: twice a week in July/August
