Moulin de Chaules is located by a former watermill on a crystal clear brook. The campsite and its pitches are part of the former rural Chaules estate. The ruins of the old castle, owned by the neighbour, rise high above the trees and can be visited at any time.
During the high-season (July/August) the campsite is very family oriented with a wide range of facilities for all. In low season, we are an ideal choice for relaxing stays.
All the grass pitches are on the sunny side of the hill. The trees provide just enough shade for a siesta.
Toilet blocks have a 24-hour hot water showers; a baby corner with dressing room and baby bath with hot and cold water; wash basins; a washing-up area with hot and cold water; children’s toilets; laundry and ironing facilities (extra charges apply); and a chemical disposal.
The bar and restaurant with a lovely terrace offer simple à la carte menus, snacks and pizzas or takeaway. There is an Internet hotspot available (extra charges apply) and a small shop for everyday essentials. The campsite's bakery prepares fresh baguettes and croissants.

Many sites set a maximum occupancy of 6/8 people per pitch, so try breaking your booking down into smaller groups to generate more results. For example, if you’re a group of 10, enter 5 people in your initial search and then book 2 pitches.
However, where the pitch or accommodation occupancy allows it, you can now make a booking for up to 30 adults and 30 children on one pitch.
To book multiple pitches or accommodation, use the 'Special requests' box on the booking page to ask to be sited together. Complete the booking form for the first booking (you can add a password and save your card so that we remember your details). Then click "Make another booking like this" at the top of the confirmation page to make the next booking.
Large groups: check the listing page for any group restrictions set out in the terms and section titled ‘Please note’.

The Cantal area is well known for its gastronomy. The Cantal cheese and Fougasse - a brioche flavoured with brandy or orange flower water and filled with crystallized fruit - are among many of the local specialties.
The landscape of the Cantal highlands changes into sweeping glacier valleys, lakes and waterfalls and is a wide plateau inhabited by deer, goats, rock thrushes and peregrine falcons.
A nature lover's paradise, the Cantal is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with many opportunities to relax.
Alternatively, the area is perfect for various activities thanks to its diverse landscape. There are a number of golf courses across the region. Riding, hiking and mountain climbing are also on offer. There are plenty of lakes where you can swim, sail and windsurf. The lakes also offer great opportunities for spin, bait or fly fishing.
The summers are usually long and warm with temperatures often reaching 30 degrees.
