Just 500 metres from the wide blue Atlantic Ocean, and in a countryside setting scenically surrounded by ocean, dunes and river… you'll likely want to settle down at Camping Lous Seurrots for quite some time. And that's before you even investigate the heaps of facilities to keep all ages busy from dawn to past dusk at this Yelloh! Village site: a waterpark with four pools, lagoon, covered slide, paddling pool and toboggans; plenty for sporty sorts including a football pitch, multisports court, ping pong table, courts for pétanque, tennis and beach volleyball, a fitness room and archery; playgrounds, and, for a quieter vibe, a games room, TV room and library. The site's activity leaders keep things busy at all times too, with sports tournaments, fitness activities, music, dance and theme evenings in low season, and a kids' club, teen club and evening entertainment including concerts, magicians' nights, clowns, cabaret and dancing in July and August. It's all set around the Landes commune of Contis, close to the wide stretch of fine sand making up Contis beach, and on the riverbank of the Courant de Contis, the small coastal river crossing the resort and flowing into the Atlantic. Bike hire is available on site for pedalling off to explore the local coast and countryside. As you'd expect from such a well-equipped site, Lous Seurrots is also well sorted for eats and drinks, with a restaurant, bar and terrace (sea and river views included); a wine bar with lounge, a takeaway and a bakery. A small supermarket is open in high season and there's a barbecue area too to cook up your own nosh. The well-kept amenities include modern and spacious toilet and shower blocks; a launderette with washing machines, tumble dryer and an iron; a washing-up area; disabled facilities and a drying room. Safety deposit boxes are available for rental to keep all your valuables secure. Camping Lous Seurrots also has an internet point at reception, and wifi throughout the site.

Route directions

By car From Paris/Bordeaux Follow the A63 in the direction of Arcachon/Bayonne then carry on along the N10. Take the Exit 14 signposted Morcenx, Contis-Plage. Carry on the D38, enter Onesse-et-Laharie and follow the directions for Mezos. Arriving in Mezos, follow the directions for Contis-Plage and carry on the D167 then the D41. When approaching Contis-Plage, the campsite will be on your left. - From Bayonne/Spain Follow the A63 in the direction of Bordeaux then carry on along the N10. Take the Exit 12 signposted Castets. Follow onto the D947, cross Castets and carry on in the direction of Lit-et-Mixe. In Lit-et Mixe follow the directions for Contis-Plage and carry on along the D340 then the D41. When arriving in Contis-Plage, the campsite will be on your left. By train - Morcenx train station - 37 km from Contis-Plage - Dax train station - 57 km from Contis-Plage By plane - Biarritz - Parme Airport - 90 km from Contis-Plage - Bordeaux - Mérignac Airport - 130 km from Contis-Plage

If you manage to get off site/away from the beach, a fair amount to do is around the Atlantic Ocean, countryside and riverside setting of Camping Lous Seurrots. Staying close to home, the small and peaceful resort of Contis-Plage has shops, restaurants, a disco and a cinema, and connects via a cycle track through a pine and cork oak tree setting to the nearby village of Saint-Julien en Born; from here, access over 40 kilometres of mountain bike, cycling and hiking trails. Within six kilometres of Saint-Julien en Born are three more scenic settlements to visit in Lit-et-Mixe, Mezos and Uza; Mimizan is 15km away and the beach resort, surfing and 18-hole golf course of Moliets is within 27 kilometres. Surfing, canoeing, horse riding, local markets and fishing in freshwater and ocean are also easily accessible from the site for active sorts: ask the Lous Seurrots team for top local tips.
