- Peaceful Périgord Noir site 10 minutes' drive from Les Eyzies
- Préhisto Parc five minutes' drive; 25 minutes to Sarlat-la-Canéda
- Chlorine-free natural pool on site, plus bar and play area
Fancy a freshwater swim? The name of this site is pretty accurate – there’s a natural swimming pool at Camping Eau Naturelle, for refreshing and eco-friendly dips in chlorine-free water.
The pool is open during the afternoons from mid-June to mid-September, and it’s a lovely place to cool off after a day touring the many attractions of the Périgord Noir region – châteaux, caves, gardens and historic villages are all close by, and there are plenty of hikes, canoe trips and other outdoor activities to fill your days with.
Getting out to explore should be pretty straightforward, as this site is well placed in the village of Tursac, within the triangle formed by Montignac-Lascaux, Les Eyzies and Sarlat-la-Canéda (all of which are within a 25-minute drive).
The village is a tiny place but it is home to a couple of restaurants for when you’d like to have a meal out. There’s no need to head out if you don’t want to, though – the site serves up takeaway snacks (including tasty homemade fries) and has a bar that opens up at 4pm every day to serve cocktails, local beers, soft drinks and ice creams.
There’s a very laidback vibe at this site, and you won’t find anything like organised activities or noisy entertainments here. A play area and a pétanque court are on hand for a bit of gentle activity if you want it, and there’s plenty of space to relax by that lovely pool.
Facilities on site include a food shop, a wifi service and a pair of bathroom blocks that were refurbished in 2023 and 2024 to keep the amenities up to scratch.

Local attractions
The village of Tursac is on the banks of the Vézère river, and hiring a canoe there to paddle along the river is a particularly nice way to see some of the area. The nearby ‘Route panoramique sur la vallée de la Vézère’ (10 minutes’ drive) is a good alternative if you’d rather stick to dry land and stretch your legs with a walk.
There’s heaps of history to discover around here, starting with places like the Abri de la Madeleine troglodyte village and the kid-friendly attractions of Préhisto Parc (both five minutes). Château de Commarque (15 minutes) and Château et jardins de Losse (20 minutes) are also top spots to visit, or you could take a stroll through the streets of Sarlat-la-Canéda (25 minutes), a medieval ‘Town of Art and History’.
The local scenery is lovely too – but don’t neglect what’s underground. Places like the Grottes du Roc de Cazelle and Grotte du Grand Roc (both 10 minutes) are well worth seeing.
