Local attractions

For all mountain or downhill bikers or those who'd like to give it a go, extensive cross-country and downhill trails for all abilities are easily reached from the farm. The trails are well maintained and regularly updated with new berms, jumps, dropoffs and technical sections. Bring your own bikes or hire some locally. Road cyclists have kilometres of paths passing through pine forests and traditional French villages. For families, many traffic-free places for relaxed riding are within easy reach. Explore the Dordogne countryside, with its lakes, rivers, villages, châteaux, castles, medieval towns and prehistoric caves. Recommended options include: Bussiere Galant tree park adventure, with seven courses of increasing difficulty, including about 70 games (bridges, Tarzan ropes, climbing nets and zipwires). The velorail of Bussière-Galant in the land of the Feuillardiers, a 6km cycling trail crossing fields, hills and chestnut coppices. Limoges, with fine porcelain, botanical gardens and original settlements dating back to Roman times. Visit the many shops and tour the working factories. Brantome, a historic medieval market town surrounded by the Dronne river. Friday is market day and canoeing is very popular on the river.
